More importantly, why take an extra slot away from someone who probably needs this one chance?

I urge (won't say 'beg') everyone who is eligible for more than one stream to apply only for one. It really doesn't change anything, and you would be taking spots from someone else.

1. Should an applicant be employed only at the time of the submission (for example only on May 6) or be employed even the application is in the process until we get the final result?
2. What will happen if we change the employer or the position?
“ Be employed in Canada with a valid permit or authorization to work pursuant to the Act and Regulationsat the time the application for permanent residence is received and must not be self-employed, unless working as a medical doctor in a fee-for-service arrangement with a health authority. The employment must meet the definition of work under subsection 73(2) of the Regulations; “

We are not sure. They only say about the time of the application, but the chatty lawyer mentioned that one also has to be employed at the time of approval. (?) Not sure about changing positions/companies, because nothing is mentioned along those lines (as usual, if it's not mentioned, it probably means that it's ok).
Also there’s the BOWP issue. I suspect that if you have to be employed at all times, you’ll get some sort of closed work permit...Which is a dealbreaker for many.

No, there is no R10, and it will be rejectedSo, we have to fill most of the form online, print it and write our name (even if it has "English" characters) and sign it? They should clarify in the guide.
I really hope IRCC releases the guide on Monday (or any time before Thursday) and gives people some time to prepare, we still don't know much about the program and how it's going to work. I'm not saying this because I want to read it, I obviously want to, but it makes a lot of sense to release it beforehand.
People are desperate for more information, the public policy page info is very vague and doesn't clarify a lot. If this program lacks the R10 completeness check that means someone ineligible because of vague wording could spend 6-7 months waiting only to get their application rejected. If they release the guide now, people are going to read it and try to assimilate every bit of information in order to be better prepared and double-check their eligibility.
If they wait until the stream opening, we don't know whether the page will crash or not and there's going to be a flood of potential applicants trying to register either to apply ASAP or to create their profile beforehand while they wait for their test results. Many people see in this their only shot at PR, they won't waste time reading the application guide knowing there's people ahead of them filling the spots. I doubt that with the "stream-opening day madness" people stop to carefully read and realize "oh, I need to print, sign and scan this form by hand, but not the other form"
Impossible, Many CEC people and FSW who already have the ITA & submit the application says they will, let alone those who are only in the pool
Ultimately immigration is a privilege, not a right. And when it comes to PR in Canada (which for many of us means ensuring a bright future) it’s normal people act selfishly.
It could be because they expect shorter processing times, to increase chances of getting PR or because this is their only shot.
We should expect people to be selfish on May 6th, in the same way some of us are eager to apply asap, there’s people praying the system will crash and people trying to cheat the system and apply despite not being eligible.
Desperate people are gonna get disappointed on May 6th regardless. If you have a solid profile then there's nothing to worry about. IRCC is taking in 400k applicants a year until 2022.
I've been wondering about this too, and it's interesting you mention a closed work permit. For anyone on a PGWP that is a huge deal breaker. As it is, I've been jumping through hoops for my husband's SOWP, I don't want to put myself in a position where I HAVE to work for my current employer until I get a PR.
The pandemic has placed so many restrictions on all of us, especially temporary residents, I hope they won't force us to be restricted in our employment.
This is why I wish they had done a draw like the 75 CRS one with eligibility being currently employed and having a credential.
The way they have set it up has brought out the worst in a lot of people, and honestly, this might just be the stress speaking, I've lost a lot of respect for the immigrant community of which I'm a part.
It's hard to see how some aspects are just the same as they are back home.
I think his school put some weird security restrictions on the pdf that's preventing normal features I hate when they do that.
