Yes, same here. I wonder if they're just basing that on the generic 12 months processing time they give all applications. In that case, I do not see much added benefit to having that progress bar.
Exactly

I have a very similar timeline to you both. We were told by the clinic that it would take three days for them to send the information to the VO, and that we should be seeing confirmation of that "soon" (they didn't specify how long). We'll see. From what I've seen, although individual experiences vary widely, the most common route seems to be a request for the passport not too long after medical results are provided. I guess that is only if they decide not to do a background check. Good luck to you both!
I almost contact the clinic to make sure that the sent my MCU result, but yesterday (March 4th) I recheck gc key account and thank God it changed to 'you pass the medical exam', what a relief. Hope your will pass soon.

Thanks a million Gordiewow, good luck for us all! :)))

That sounds positive for me coz as per my knowledge the final ppr request comes from local VO.

Wow thats amazing! The clinic said that it would take 2 business days to update so hopefully it will update soon. Our GCkey hasn't updated yet. I seen for other applicants that they get PPR not too long after their MR but I'm not sure how efficient Singapore VO is.

Hi all. So our application is a bit different, I assume it is because we are both outside of Canada maybe. Anyway, AOR was 17 Decemebr, Sponsor Approval was 10 January, My background check started to go to "In process" in January already, file was transferred to my local VO on 17 January and ECAS changed to in Process with date of 21 January as well. Then it was silent for about a month. On 27 February I got a request for medicals and also for my sponsor to provide intent to establish in Canada (after we already provided them with 150 pages of intent haha). So I went for my medicals on 4 March, and my sponsor bought plane tickets for 15 June as well as resigned her job (we provided a resignation letter, invitation letter and a plan of where we will stay and work etc.) so let's hope this is enough, otherwise she would have resigned for no reason and we would have lost the money of the plane ticket.

Furthermore, even though I have done my medicals on Monday, GCKey is still stating that they requested me to do medicals. Nothing has changed to "received" yet, is this normal or should I contact the medical center and ask them whether they forgot to send? I highly doubt that they would make a mistake of that magnitude...I honestly hope my application is not only starting now, as it has been 6 months already. Based on my visa office's timelines, usually they request medicals roughly 2 months before passports. So I am hoping that the officer will only take 2 months to assess my relationship and sponsor's intent. I cannot see how it should take longer than that anyway, there are not many South Africans applying for family visas, if any, at this moment.

Will keep you posted.

Hey guys,

I'm sponsoring my husband from Bangladesh. Here's our timeline:

Application Received: September 12th 2018
AOR1: December 16th 2018
Biometrics: January 13th 2019
Sponsor Approval: January 16th 2019
File Transfer to VO (Singapore): January 23rd 2019
AOR2: January 31st 2019
Medical Requested: February 27th 2019
Medical Completed: March 2nd 2019

What should we be expecting next and how much longer does it usually take for a decision to be made?

Anything would help. Thanks guys!
Hi, my timeline is very close to you. Sponsored from South Africa. I am hoping passport requests will come within 2 months after medicals, as that would be month 8 already. Anyone else care to pitch in on this? Some people get medical request prior to AOR2, others (like us) get medical requests after local VO has file.

My timeline:

Application Received: September 11th 2018
AOR1: December 17th 2018
Biometrics: January 7th 2019
Sponsor Approval: January 10th 2019
File Transfer to VO (Pretoria, South Africa): January 17th 2019
AOR2: January 21st 2019
Medical Requested: February 27th 2019
Medical Completed: March 4th 2019

Almost 6 months into the process. I could not find a lot of info on my local visa office, but the two other cases on this forum followed a timeline similar to mine, with medicals roughly a month after AOR2 and then passport request 2 months after medicals. I am hoping and praying ours is the same, since my fiance already resigned her job and booked a flight on 15 June to prove to the visa officer that she is in fact moving to Canada. If I cannot go with her, it is going to be tough on her to be alone for a few months. Fingers crossed that the visa officer is one of the kind ones.

Thanks for sharing,

Do you mind if I ask what you sent in for intent on her living in Canada, out of everything I'm most concerned about that. I've been living out of Canada 7years now so I don't know what they would consider solid intent.

If you can share what types of things you sent that would be great. I would like to get an idea if in the future that ask for more proof what I can be prepared for.

Check under my posts in my profile for a thread that I started "How we compiled our application". I put all details in there. I added a ton of stuff, I think it is standard practice for them to ask for more. So my sponsor just decided to resign and buy a ticket and fly over. No better intent than actually moving and getting it over with.
