yes that would be an aor...LOL..sort of....I received a letter mid-September stating that they have the file and I was not allowed to contact them until January 11, 2013......but even before I got that letter my husband had received the call....they had his email address but they sent this letter to him c/o my address!! there is no rhyme or reason with this embassy :-X

well in that case there is no reason for you not to email them after a reasonable time has elapsed to get an update if you have not heard from them

you might still get a letter after the fact...just no consistencies with any of these embassies and I think that is the most frustrating thing...if you knew a) and b) and c) it would be good but I guess it is a test to our commitment!!!!

I ordered my notes last week..still waiting for them. I think the only thing holding me from emailing is that on my ecas it does show in process. My husband has an expired medical and i am thinking maybe they are waiting for the new medical certiifcate to arrive i dunno :-\

yes or they might have requested for an extension which can delay things!!! The only problem with the notes is that they will be 30 days old....whatever the last entry was the day they received your request and almost guarantee between 28 and 31 days you will get the email! But you will see in there if they requested a medical extension.....I am sure you will hear soon...seems to be moving along in Havana....my file did not show in process until after my husband got his visa.....so that maybe a good sign for you!!!

I got home yesterday, Embassy wrote my Rep today and Hubby got the call. They told him he needs to be in Embassy Thursday, January 24 at 830 am and asked him if his daughter was travling with him. He said yes. They said to bring both passports and 2 photos for the Visa. (Gave him demensions). He asked if we needed pictures for Amara and they said no only him. He asked if they needed more documetns to prove the relationship and she replied "No they said you don't need more". You only need bring the passports and photos.

Here is what the embassy wrote to rep: Dear Sir/ Madam,

Reference is made to the permanent residence application received at this office. Please be advised that applicant has been convoked for Final Review of file and possible visa issuance on January 24, 2013 at 8:30 am. Passports for applicant and daughter are required.

VISA issue for sure...first of all you did not get the minimum two week notice; secondly no further proof of relationship was requested; thirdly they asked for more pics for the PR card!!! Do a happy dance and hugs to you and the family!!! ;D

Thanks so much!!! I'm still in shock. I thought for sure this going to be a long hard fight. I guess I send just enough and waited long enough to apply!! Yippee. I am not going to go to embassy and go back when he flies home with me. I think I'm making the right choice there. Thanks for all your support through this!

Happy Dance; exact same email I got. Convoked for final review........at 8:30 a.m. Hubby handed in passport and police certificate (his had expired) and he was told to come back at 2:30.

Yes...let's up a great week for everyone!! Congrats on the wedding in October...we were married Oct 2011.....a great month!!!! That is great that you are able to go back and get the certificate...ours came back alot faster than we thought and it was a quick trip to Cuba to get it!!! Yes...pay all fees up front so it does not delay you near the end!!! Can't wait to hear more up dates!

KJG thanks so much. I believe you advised us to get the medical completed for this month. I'm looking at your stats, it seems we are parallel just a year apart. It will be interesting to see if mi esposo arrives by November

Between hubby's arrival, crazy work hours, the holidays etc, I've been a bit absent from here, but did manage to squeeze in a great visit with KJG and her hubby, they are awesome!

Things are great, everything is still so new and amazing to him, and it's been beautiful experiencing everything for the first time with him.

Shuster2210...it was an awesome visit but way to short......we will definitely be coming to Toronto for a weekend soon and I so want to go dancing and since our husband's are more talkers than dancers we can dance the night away while they chat!!!!

hey, nope never got an AOR. I only got an email from havana on the 10th of december saying they have received the file and have began processing it. Is that my AOR? Online it shows my file is in process since the 10th of december as well. I am getting quite nervous thinking something may be wrong however I know I am within the timelines. I guess knowing how solid my package was I was thinking it would be so much quicker ??? :

I have updated your info on the spreadsheet to show the Stage 2 AOR. I am confident your visa issue no interview call is coming by Monday of next week! : )

Hi Everyone....Had a great weekend Sassy as the weather was awesome for January. My son visited this weekend as he does most as he waits for his bride to join him from Cuba. We talked on the phone and her first question to my son is always how much longer "my love". It broke our hearts after the wedding to leave her standing at the airport. He has managed to visit her twice since the wedding...in October and December but as you know it is hard to say goodbye and harder every time.
So Sassy the AOR for Havana was received the same day for the both of us so we can keep eachother updated. I told my D.I.L. one month has passed since Havana had the file so with any luck we will hear something by the end of February or beginning of March with regards to an interview...With any luck maybe no interview. We are trying to stay optimistic after the sad news of last week. Sending good thoughts everyday to Double Rainbow for a positive appeal just so sad that a husband and wife have to go through all of this to be together as it should be.

It seems a lot of people received AOR's from Havana on Dec 10! They must of been cleaning house! Or they just paid their internet bill! jajajaja
