What is the difference between portal and GCkey please? Can you send me the link for portal access?
Portal is different from GCKey .
GCKey is the IRCC account where you usually see application status updates Like Eligibility , background check , biometric, etc.
The PR Portal is mainly used for PR Applications when you submit online . If you submitted by paper after you will receive Final Decision IRCC will send the link in this regards . For me because I have representative on my file and He submitted PR Application Online I have Portal access , but nothing change until Final Decision .
I already linked gckey. Group members were discussing about security in progress in gckey . I noticed first time that mine says security in progress. Someone said mine showing from last year that security in progress, It does not necessarily means you are about to get final decision.
It's better than appears 'not started' .
I think any of 2023 It's close now.
I love how they announced the one time initiative for protected person , and now half way through the year , they didnt even implemented. The incompetence of this government is astonishing. Its all for show. We all been waiting for 3 years now and counting....
They are giving pr to 2024 applicants i think 2023 applicants should go to court against this discrimination by ircc we have been waiting for pr for more than 3 years it’s not fair to give pr to 2024 applicants before us they gave 4000 pr to 2024 applicants whereas only 300 pr were given to 2023 applicants last month

Let me tell you they're processing applicants that applied after Aug 2024 so me as a Jan 2024 applicant, I am still stuck after 2.5 years. We're in the same situation as all of you guys. I see Aug, Oct, even November applicants repeatedly getting their final decision while we wait and wait. This is unfair for all of us. They have started processing months that contribute to their 16-month timeline just to prove that they're doing something and aren't falling behind. So we have to wait for now and who knows how long that's going to be.

So what should we do now ? Apply for mandmus or protest or do nothing and waste another year . i think we should make a group on x and regularly tag ircc and immigration minister every day

if your application is already entered security screening even minister can not do anything until its clear. i heard that mandamus is expensive.

IRCC automated phone message changed and now says that my background check is being processed .
Has anyone had a similar experience ? If yes , how long after that you get your portal email ?
