2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

They requested additional documents in October 2025 . Which I submitted on November 6th. My timeline is march 2025. My friend applied September received his coper.

I thought you were april 2023? So you applied in march 2025 for PR?

I saw my background check is started. This message appeared in my portal :
“We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.”
Earlier there was a different message something like “IRCC has not been started the background check and they will let me know once they started.”
I hope it is a good news. I am April 2023 applicant btw

Was your wedding recently? How long did it take them to request these documents after your marriage? Sorry asking all this because i will go through same process

I married on May 2024, I let them know through web form but I didn’t send the marriage certificate. After 2 years they are asking the certificate and some form. My husband has Canadian citizenship, but still I need to fill these forms I guess.

Portal is different from GCKey .
GCKey is the IRCC account where you usually see application status updates Like Eligibility , background check , biometric, etc.
The PR Portal is mainly used for PR Applications when you submit online . If you submitted by paper after you will receive Final Decision IRCC will send the link in this regards . For me because I have representative on my file and He submitted PR Application Online I have Portal access , but nothing change until Final Decision .
