It appears that IRCC is prioritizing newer applications and updating its processing approach by focusing primarily on applications from August 2024 onward to have those process within the processing standard, while only minimally addressing cases that fall outside the standard processing timeline, based on what I am currently observing.

  • April 2024 – Application requested to be redone and resubmitted
  • July 14, 2024 – Spouse in Canada requested to complete biometrics
  • July 5, 2024 – Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) issued
  • August 13, 2024 – Dependants requested to complete biometrics and provide police certificates
  • September 2, 2024 – Dependants submitted biometrics and police certificates
  • May 23, 2025 – Request received to complete IMM 5409
  • May 30, 2025 – Eligibility letter issued to spouse in Canada (dependants referenced in the letter)
