So the lawyers told the truth, and it is possible that people could receive their PR in these times. It’s not impossible – that’s good news.
Yes, but we need to consider 28 months. That's for some specific people who fall under specifical pilot program.

I’m under pilot program but haven’t heard back , it’s been 17 months

Pilot program is also overwhelmed and there is still a set target for PR so processing will likely get longer like all other PR programs.

Hi, I've applied my PR *end of February* but instead of the AOR, I've received an email with "Submission Confirmation Letter" on friday. Does everyone receive this before AOR? It says in it I still can't link my application. I've called IRCC today and they told me they can't estimate when I'd receive an AOR.

I don't understand why it took so long for them to confirm that they have received the documents if it's not even reviewed if it's complete. The number mentioned in it starts with XG.

How long usually after this possibly will I get the AOR?

A parliamentary petition is now live to demand faster processing of PR and family reunification applications in Canada.
It’s officially supported by a Member of Parliament.

There is a similar one almost every year. If no changes were made while Trudeau gvt was in power and doors were wide open in terms of immigration the chances of anything coming from this petition now is almost zero. As I previously pointed out a more targeted request later on in the process (when family is being processed abroad) and likely with proof of being able to financially support family in Canada without government help would be a much better use of time and energy and would have a higher chance of success. This program would go against the stated goal of reducing temporary residents and limited the volume of PRs accepted annually. Not what people want to hear but if the goal is to get family to Canada earlier a year or even months is better than no changes and likely longer processing times given cuts to PR quotas. Sure I will get hate but people need to think strategically and realistically if they want chance of success instead of asking for the same thing with no results over and over again. This is especially important given the shift in attitude towards immigration in Canada, massive economic challenges and extremely strained infrastructure.

Hello everyone, please I need some answers.
My asylum was granted in January 2024 and I applied for PR immediately but it’s yet to be approved. However, I welcomed a baby with my girlfriend in March and we’re planning to get married in September so I can sponsor her and also notify IRCC of the birth of our baby but I want to know how I can add her to my application, what I need to do, forms to fill and how long it can take for her to get her PR. Also do I need a lawyer to do the process or I can do it myself. I will appreciate your responses. Thank you.

What is her status in Canada? Processing will take around 3 years unless part of a pilot program and may be a bit faster then. You can add your spouse to your application but that doesn’t give them status in Canada. They will be processed after you receive PR. You can do it yourself.

She’s currently on open work permit that expires in Jan 2026.
How do I go about it please
