hi, I got PPR for my husband and step daughter my husband sent off his passport along with his daughters passport. Embassy from beirut called my husband to ask why his step daughters passport was submited as well, he told the lady on the phone that he was confused as she was added to the application as a dependent but we later found out my lawyer has made a mistake by pressing NOT accompanying father. Lady on the phone told my husband that he has an advantage because they already have her medical documents and i have paid the appropriate fees ( right of permanent resident fee and 150$ for another fee) they also have her passport along with her fathers. they requested for the lawyer to ammend the request. she is 9 years old and my husband has full custody as well. they gave us a deadline of 1 week to fix this? has this happened to anyone? will my husbands PR get cancled? will they accept the request? she is 9 years old and cant be left alone.

No-one can tell you for certain especially how long this may take, but do what they told you and cross your fingers.
It sounds like the visa office was strongly implying that they want to just get this done and out, so ... do what they said. (It would make no sense for them to tell you this if they wanted to cancel the PR request or refuse igt)
Thank you so much for the insight, I did I sent the request form amending the error and sent it the same day it was requested. So no now I'm just waiting for the Beirut VO office to reply. I'm so terrified I don't know what else I can do. since shes under 9 do they require background check? or eligibility? she has already done her medical request back in september.
Try to relax, I don't think they're trying to harm you.
My understanding is that technically they do background check and eligibility for all - but basically for a 9 year old there is not much to do save confirm the child is who they say she is and child of the eligible parents. (Custody if that is an issue of course)
So i asked my lawyer and he said no she is under 12 no background check or eligibility just medical and biometric when she enters canada. My husband has proof of full custody but they haven’t requested that yet. I’m praying this works out have you ever heard of this?
If you have a lawyer to whom you've paid money and answered your question before, why ask it again?
I would think that if the former spouse has provided the permission to emigrate, that would be enough, but I believe it may depend on some country factors. But if they need it, they will ask for it.
I hope it's not the same lawyer that made the original mistake of leaving out your child.

I am blessed with baby on 11 January 2024. And i got my ppr for fswp on 26 January 2024. It was written in ppr to declare all dependants. My wife and my baby is not accompanying me to canada. On 8 February 2024 I submitted all the documents for my baby like passport photocopies, birth certificate, funds, e medical, non accompanying certificate and photographs along with my original passport and two photographs for visa stamping and copr.
But on 23 February 2024 I received a letter from cic that they cancelled my copr and visa counterfoil. They reopened my application and said new decision will be rendered on addition of my baby after eligibility and assessment.
Now my questions are:-
1. What will be the new decision??
2. Will they again check my eligibility and do background check or will they just check the baby documents ??
3. Will they return my unstamped passport back to me or will they keep it with themselves at ircc new delhi for new visa stamping after new ppr??
1. The new decision would be adding your baby to your file as non-accompanying. Once that's done and after you've landed as PR, you can then sponsor your wife and baby in the future.
2. Unless that takes extensively long, the check will be medical, background check for your baby. (which should not take very long since you did upfront medical for your baby already)
3. Not sure if they will return unstamped and request for passport again when they are ready to stamp it again or they will just return with the new stamp.
For more questions regarding to your updated COPR/PPR, It's better if you post at FSWP section (whatever that stream is). This is not a family class sponsorship question. Only after you landed as PR and sponsor them in the future, then that would be a family class application.
sir i have a question— will the new decision will be getting a new ppr, as all my file is genuine??
