    Same here, mate. We are from Turkmenistan (being from a former Soviet country scares IRCC so much, I guess), and we have been an independent country since 1991. 35 years now, but no IRCC still sends all of us for the comprehensive background check even though we have been living here in Canada...

    btw IRCC sent both of us to CC check in Aug 2026 (I am the principal applicant). Mine got cleared in April 2026, but still waiting for her cc. She also never worked in the military, etc.
