i am on three telegram groups of Intl students and from their queries I understood this specific Visa office is flooded with passports for stamping.
Kids complain as if the visa office is working only to process their study permits hehe. The study permit apps are processed in bulk so are the ppr's and refusals too.
Fantastic, here I am in another queue

tr2pr was a one time thing
PNP is provincial thing.
maybe federal government wants a Federal Nomination Program hehe with NOC's different from PNP
Agreed, Hence PNP is the only key player which accounted for 4.5% of total intake so even if they double it that should not be no where near enough, Either their economy is not growing as they anticipated post covid or its political mess

Check Kubeir's recent video on TR2PR, he has explained in detail why TR2PR is such a giant blunder commited by IRCC. Some TR2PR applications are not even in the backlog because they have not received AOR yet. Also, refugee quota got a big boost and we already know about the massive PR backlog.

If this data is correct, then all programs draw has been dominating for all these years, how do they expect to fill the gaps with sudden shift from APD to PNP or TR2PR
They're not doing FSW draws because they don't want to appear bad to the public with the massive backlog and want to control it first. Although they blame COVID for this, this is primarily their own making - a poorly thought out number-cooking plan focusing on TR2PR and CEC to hit the yearly targets in 2020 and 2021. So they've stopped FSW draws for now. That's the real reason. It's not like they've significantly increased the PNP draws to make up for the FSW draws.

The funny thing is they are not doing anything to reduce backlogs, according to their plan 19 k application will be left for 2023.Tha is this backlogs will remain even in 2023.

Imagine how it feels being here in Russia.
Must feel like vodka, pretty girls, world's most nuclear heads owned, and BLYAT. I don't see anything particularly bad about it.

OMFG just called IRCC client support center (could not get through again) and now it says "the situation in Ukraine". I cannot take this anymore...................
Not surprised. JT's IRCC boosted the numbers for refugees in the new levels and they didn't do it for nothing.

Covid as an excuse is unfortunately not limited to IRCC's processing timelines. It has impacted every aspect of government services and they keep using covid to hide their own inefficiencies and lethargy. Covid was a valid excuse may be in 2020 but should not be allowed anymore. I hope Canada's government takes back all restrictions so that they have no way of hiding behind Covid anymore.
