I want to apply for the super visa for my parent. They are allowed to stay in the country for maximum of 2 years and right after that they will have to get out of the country and return back. Can anybody confirm with me what the period of time is that they have to be out for and then can return. Thanks

How long they are allowed into Canada is always up to the CBSA officer they speak to at the border. This includes their very first visit.

Generally speaking, if they come to Canada and remain for two straight years, they should leave for at least six months (longer would be better) before returning.

They are allowed to stay for up to 2 years only for the first visit on a super visa (if there's a handwritten date). For subsequent visits, they would be allowed to stay for a maximum of up to 6 months even though it would be a super visa entry

So if I understand this correctly. A supervisa is valid for 10 year or for how long the passport is valid for. With the first visit they can stay for 2 years and then they have to go back to their country. After that if they want to come again for a visit they are just allowed to stay 6 months and not 2 years again?

Does anybody have some information for me regarding where to apply for the insurance. Which companies is the best with good pricing.

They can apply to extend their stay even on the first (or subsequent) entries on the super visa. Normally, an extension of up to 6 months would be granted.

That's correct

My mother-in-law came this year under supervisa. Her passport did not get stamped and there was no hand written date as well. Is she allowed only to stay 6 months here in Canada or 2 years? I am confused. Her 6 month stay will almost be over. I do not know if I should get extension or not. Please shed light on this. Thank you!

2 years if on a supervisa which is PG-1 visa.

okay, Thank you. But others from the other forums says it will be 6 months only. And its a case to case basis.
