Hello there, I work as an insurance agent for Economical, however my job title as per the company is "Customer service representative", but my work fills the description for a licensed insurance agent. I worked at RBC insurance before for the same roles and description but my title there was "Licensed Insurance Advisor".As per NOC i fall under Skill B and code 6352-Insurance agents and brokers. My question is, will CIC reject me based on my title only?

No, they cannot reject on job title. Just make sure your letter with your duties is strong (maybe back up evidence) so there is no suspicion.

I had a similar issue where my job title didn't quite line up to the NOC. When my employer wrote the reference letter they included the job description (complete with duties, education required, etc) with it.

My job description is completely in line with code 6352, just the title. Does that really matter if I can provide a signed document with my job duties?

It's the duties themselves that CIC cares about aligning with the NOC. They understand different companies call positions different things. As long as the duties listed on your signed reference letter match up to the NOC you claim, you will be fine.

Will it be too extra if as proof I provide them with copies of my licenses to show I am a "legitimate" licensed insurance person?

It certainly won't hurt you if you do. I've never read of CIC rejecting anyone for providing "too much" information.

Not sure where you got that NOC, but it is 6231 for Insurance agents and brokers.

If the duties/responsibilities attested by your employer in the letter of reference match the NOC, then don't worry about the job title. Licensure is REQUIRED for this NOC, so if you are claiming this NOC based on job duties and responsibilities, do not forget to include scans of your license(s) with your employment documents.

Hello Can you tell us what was the out come ? I am in a similar position where my job title says "customer support advisor" I had duties to that of a customer service representative and also duties of a licensed insurance agent. So i actually had a insurance licence.

I have a query - I am working as an insurance agent too. Now i joined TD insurance on April 9th 2021 and had some license training and product training. After the license exam I received my license on May 23rd. Now for 6231 experience, as license is mandatory, would ircc count hours from April 9th or may 23rd?

Kindly let me know

Thank you
