Traveling With eCOPR

I saw that the IRCC made a new rule which went into affect on June 21,2021 that people who received eCOPR can travel to Canada without their PR card. My question is what if someone received their eCOPR while in Canada can they travel to the us for a few days before receiving PR card

Crossing a land border with your eCoPR is fine. During the hard lockdown days of the pandemic you couldn't get on a plane to Canada with an eCoPR, but I have no idea how things stand now.

Like the airline regulations, being allowed to board a commercial bus or train with an eCoPR might be in question. But, if you're allowed to board an international bus/train crossing into Canada with an eCoPR should be fine.

True! My point was don't plan on anything but a private vehicle (or crossing by foot should work).

All COPR say not valid for travel - they are not valid for travel without some other document (eg passport + visa or passport + ETA [I think for visa waiver types])

I know if you travel with eCOPR it's by land only so my question is as follows if someone lives in Toronto can they drive accross the border & if a US citizen uses their passport to fly let's say from New York to LA?

To armoured since you can only travel by land from Canada to the us & back with eCOPR can you drive into the us & than use your us passport to fly somewhere else in the us once you crossed the border using the eCOPR?

Your question does not make sense. If you are going from Canada to US, you use your US passport - they don't care what your status in Canada is (well, basically). You'd only need the ecopr to get back into Canada.

How do you know it’s okay to use E-CoPR to re-enter Canada in a private vehicle through Canada-US border?
I have a trip to mexico next week, I have my e-CoPR and was thinking on changing my return flight from mexico to buffalo and rent a car to crops the border to enter canada but I just want to make sure this will work.

I have a trip to mexico next week, I have my e-CoPR and was thinking on changing my return flight from mexico to buffalo and rent a car to crops the border to enter canada but I just want to make sure this will work.

Essentially, the "Not for Travel" note on the eCoPR document indicates it is NOT an identification document (like the actual PR card is). As such, transportation company personnel can't use an eCoPR as an identification or residential document, so you may or may not be able to board a flight/bus/train that is crossing into Canada using your eCoPR. Once you're at the border checking in with CBSA (airport or land crossing) your eCoPR and a passport will be enough for them to identify you as a current Canadian PR and they'll let you in (other issues notwithstanding).

It says so on their website that if you're in a private vehicle you don't need the PR card or a prtd
