I am wondering if anyone has been successful to talk to an agent on phone in the Embassy of Canada in Ankara. Or has anybody been able to go to the Embassy regarding the status of their application?

Yes I've called them 3 times to speak with an agent, they refused to give any appointment in person du to the pandemic, use the same excuses after 16 months, and do not give information though the phone since they can't confirm your identify "apparently". The only way to get information is though the email the lady in the reception told me. I told her it's a lame excuses to use the pandemic after 16 months since the had all this time to figure out the logistic problem. To be honest, unless you know the agent office number, it's impossible to talk them beside the emails. I'm Canadian and I travel to Turkey every 2 or 3 months to see my wife since the pandemic hit.

16 months, too much. I do not know why they process the applications so slowly. I have seen that some people applying even in May 2021 have received their PPRs, but it is really unfair that some Visa Offices force people to be separated so easily. Why so long? And why do not they respond to phone calls and reply with a generic COVID-19 reason when emailing on the current status of the application? Why while other offices process the applications within 7-10 months, the Ankara VO processes them within two years. This is even against human rights.
What is your timeline? Could you share it, please? Also, have you tried contacting your MP to understand why it takes so long?

Hey I understanding all your concerns because I have the same concerns also like everyone in this forum. They do actually answer the calls, you just need to be very patient and wait. My timeline is received by Sydney in September 2020, waited 7 months to get our AOR1 in April 2021 that says our application has been sent to Ankara, than no news since. No medical request anything else, just absolute pure silence from them. We already pass the 12 months as promised by IRCC, my lawyers ask them an update of what's happening since we do not had any news for 5 months but still waiting they answer us. I try to get an appointment and insisted many times but they just don't want to give it and don't allow you to enter in the embassy if you don't have an appointment. This is a disgrace for all the taxes we contribute every year, for what, been abandoned by my own government. To be honest, I'm so ashamed toward my wife about how Canada is acting is disturbing.
I will contact my MP, that for sure I will.

Applied for the GSMS notes on August 16, 2021, and received them today. The eligibility, criminality, and security checks have not been initiated yet (November 2020 applicant). Has anyone received updates on their application this month? Thank you.

I'm seeing a pattern here. I'm September, 2020 and I have the exact same update dates as you, that's crazy.
Last update was April 27 2021 and silence since.
My guessing it's they are doing batch processing I think. Looks like we're all going to have news from them all at the same time.

Yeah, they might do batch processing. I really do not understand why the Ankara VO works so slowly. Even in this group, we see that one or two people get some important updates in a month. Other VOs process the applications so quickly, within 7-12 months. It is really unbelievable.

Hi all, my mother applied for a TRV last May. She received a Letter of correspondence (BVL/Biometric Validity letter) on 09/17 and no update since then. is that a good sign that she is approved since she did not get a refusal with the BVL? how long does it take to get the PPR after the BVL letter? Ankara Visa Office. Thanks.

No actually, usually biometrics requests are sent soon after the application was submitted or matched from the previous application(s) if there is any. Probably your application is in the eligibility review stage.

Thank you for the reply. She got her biometrics request and submitted it last May. this was a biometrics validity letter. the letter itself usually comes right before, or with, the decision.
