Hi guys,
The company I work for is sponsoring my VISA through LMIA > WP. Although the company has an office in Toronto, it is not required to physically go to the office. I can stay remote forever if I want.. Because of this, I decided not to live in Toronto but in another city/province: Alberta.
When I told my plans to the consultant immigration office(that is taking care of my visa) they replied with: "your VISA is being processed through Toronto's immigration office attached to your company Toronto's office, therefore you will be under location restriction: Toronto"
Work at the office will never be a requirement and it's ok for my company for me to live wherever I want.. however, I'm concerned about this "location restriction".. By looking at the government site, there's only this page: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1414&top=15
will I be really restricted to live in Toronto only? is it illegal to work remotely from another province and/or city?
