hey there,

so in my package that is to be picked up by VAC, I have my moms passport, 2 photos of her, the passport request letter and the eye and height information.

1) i think we also need to fill a VAC form for some consent along with all the above?
2) below is one of the pages from the VAC consent form. which section do we fill in? my mom got her biometrics done on feb 2020 and so I would assume she would fill the second section?

Yes, that is correct.

Hello fellow members,

I have few questions and would appreciate if someone can answer please

What is the processing time for passports in VFS VAC India?
What are the next steps? I understand from the letter that after parents receive passport, they need to enter Canada port of entry. Did anyone get any other steps or letters with more clarifications?
My Ecas says Decision made but I don’t have a letter except the passport request letter. Is that the decision letter? Can anyone share their example please?
Is it Ok to book flight tickets to come to Canada for landing?
When can we apply for medical cards?

thanks so much

Passport request letter, as the name suggests is for you to send your passports to the visa office for visa stamping. They Will put a visa on the passport and along with it, provide a COPR document. Once you get these, you can fly to Canada. At the point of entry (airport) you will be directed to an immigration officer. This officer will complete the formalities and stamp your COPR document. This is when you become a permanent resident of Canada and the process is called landing. You can apply for medical cards and other things once you’re in Canada.

is it recommended that we accompany our parents when they land at the port of entry? my mom is in her early 50's and can't speak English.
even if we accompany them during the travel, will we be allowed to be with them when the CBSA officer interviews them, and can we speak on their behalf?

If you can accompany them, that would be great. Not sure it if is hard with the Covid situation. I don't think it is necessary.

My parents did not speak English, I just typed out their information on a piece of paper and ask them to give it to the customs officer. Later on when they went into the Immigration office, they were given a document in Vietnamese and they just read and answered questions in their own language.

Received SA letter on my email today.

I have a question re: police certificate as It was mentioned on the letter. Can i upload their police certificate on their CIC account which is valid until January 2022 (my parents requested it when they are preparing their documents) or should i wait for a request letter to submit it?

Good evening All,

I have received the invitation today and honestly i wasn't expecting it to come. I applied for it last year as my friend was applying for his parents. I know its late but i have a questions in terms of income requirement. For the year 2018 my income was $66k and i have a family of four. Since i will be applying for my parents visa do i need to consider them in my 2018 income as well which will make my family to 6 or should i only consider them for the 2020 income as i am applying for them in 2021. The only reason i am asking this question is because if i consider my parents in 2018 then i donot meet the income requirement however my income was high in 2019 and 2020 ? what are your thoughts .. do you think it is worth applying as CIC may show some flexibility ?

Hi, could someone please share the link to the tracker spreadsheet? Also, what is the best way to add my parents' application in the tracker.

Hi,
Sorry to bother you again and I don't know exactly how to use the write trend but seems you are aware I will bother you ans ask :)

In Check list if I am providing the NOAs and T4s should I check the boxes? I chose YES in the application but as supporting documents I'm just putting the NOAs and Ts as well.
Thanks Much
