My husband had his interview and it went really well. It was done at the Canadian Embassy over the computer. It was pretty straightforward, they asked around 7 questions based off of our application. They asked about my parents, my daughter, his work, his education, why he told me congratulations on a picture I sent him holding my passport. lol We really expected a lot more, but it seems it was just a formality.

Prior to the interview, they said we can bring additional proof, of course why wouldn't we. I did a lot more in depth this time, as I felt we were fighting for our future. I spent hours and hours preparing our additional proof and neatly categorizing it in to video calls, screenshots speaking with each other family, messages between each other, messages between myself with his family, him with my family, video screenshot of our chats, photos, miscellaneous photos that weren't necessarily of our time together but were relevant. So, I sent it DHL about 2 weeks before interview. It was supposed to arrive in 4 days which included a weekend. The day they were supposed to arrive I checked tracking and saw they were still in my city, I called them and was shocked that there was an issue and had to provide proof to release the package. They confirmed all was good - and it still sat there 4 days while I pleaded with DHL to ship the package. Nevermind, the envelope cost $140 to send! When all was said and done, it didn't arrive until the day of his interview, after it happened. I was really nervous a few days before and I emailed Paris VO and briefly explained the situation and asked if I could send another way and they said I could email them. Hamdoulla for this.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. :)

PPR this morning. <3
Congratulations to you and your husband. I remember you getting worried about sending your documents back because of abbreviations if I'm correct. See how fast it is eventually, congrats once again

Yes!! You're right! It was about abbreviated provinces! It was fast, but it also feels like an eternity ago, the stress of those days where you hope your application won't be returned for an error!

I totally agree! Now you can relax and start the count down to the end of the application

SO now you send the passport to the closest VFS right? And they will send to VO, issue the Visa and send it back to the VFS for pickup?

Apparently sometimes VO's can take months to issue visa...

Hi, yes. He lives 7 kilometers from the VFS. I had to email them to book an appointment and will wait for them to get back to me with a date. So inefficient. It's not like biometrics where you can just book online. Yes, he will return there for pickup.

It's possible it can take months, but I don't think so with Paris...I've heard many people have it back 5-15 days. Also, interview to PPR was only 5 days and the whole process was just 6.5 months.

Once the Visa is issued on his passport, he can just fly into canada? Does the PR card get mailed to you automatically?

Once the visa is in his passport and receives COPR he is free to come! But, of course there is lots of planning because still needs to hotel quarantine and 14 days quarantine.... so there's a lot of behind the scenes work to ensure everyone is safe and following health protocols.

Yes, the PR card is mailed to the sponsor address on file.

Thats the question I had, my wife right now is in Iraq, and she does not feel safe taking the vaccine there. If I sponsor her and she comes on a Visa, she still has to do the 3-day hotel qurantine, and the rest of the 2 weeks at home?

Yes, she would do the first 3 days in hotel and the rest of the 11 days at home. I've heard many people have their airport results back within the first 24 hours so she would be able to continue home after the results. Some of the hotels have been refunding. My husband would arrive in Montreal. The Marriott gives a $125 per day credit for food since their restaurant is closed and there are halal restaurant options for delivery. Also, this hotel refunds unused days. You'll have to call around and research. The approved hotels are listed on the IRCC website, but even so when you call you should mention it's for quarantine... GAA I think what is was called. But, I'll find out for sure when I'm actually going through that process. Just dealing with the VFS nightmare right now.

It's third party services that the PA can access prior to arrival regarding life in Canada, follow the link in the letter. Some people receive this letter months or days before a PPR. In my case it came 4 days before PPR.

That sucks... I'll be able to go home, but my wife has to stay in the hotel? Can I choose to stay with her?

You can choose to stay with her but you will have to pay too. It won't be double, but the cost will be higher. From what I understand.

What if she takes both doses of the approved vaccine from iraq? They are offering pfizer. Can she skip the quarantine?
