I never requested a GCMS notes, so I can’t really tell that.

All fields in the CIC application portal Like background check , eligibility showed pending all this while. I got a PPR request on May 20th and that’s about it.

Hi - Can you tell me how did you call IRCC agent? Do you have the phone number and the steps to take to get hold of a human?
Hi, yes so you need to download an app called TextNow on your windows system, though it is available for android and ios but the desktop version for windows seems to work pretty well for me.
You can select any free canadian phone number from the app and call the ircc helpline "1-888-242-2100". (8am to 4pm Monday-Saturday)
I called at around 10pm IST and initially the IVR picks up and starts giving a lot of information and in between will ask you to select options depending on your query and application type.
The sequence of options that I went through on the IVR was "1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2" and then I guess it is press 9 to speak to an agent at the end.
You need to keep all your application details ready when you call.

Thank you for the help. I got COPR confirmation today(but passports have not been shipped yet!)

@legalfalcon - Thanks for the help. Looks like you are right about 2 weeks turnaround time. I got a confirmation that our COPR is completed today. Now, we have to wait for the passports (which apparently are not shipped until now). It says that our COPR is only valid until 2021/12/14. Are the COPRs not valid for a year? We are getting our COPRs today only even though our AORs were on 6th Jan 2020

Thanks,
Ankit

Thank You! No, I am in USA.
Congratulations. I got a note that our COPR was approved today. Our passports were received by Ottawa office on 3rd June. Do you know how long does it take to get passports after COPR is approved in CIC? We are also based out of USA. Did you send your passports to Canada or to an embassy in USA?

Thanks,
Ankit

Hello FSW-India folks,

What is your optimistic hunch of when we will get our PPRs
(provided COVID doesn't have further surprises and vaccinations continue at current pace) :

My Guess is ~Dec 2021

Its based on below theory:

July - CA-US Border opens for fully vaccinated people
Aug - If Covid cases do not rise, CA opens travel from EU/Australia open for fully vaccinated people
Sept - CA allows fully vaccinated students
Oct - Processing restarts for FSW-O.
Nov - IRCC starts handing over PPRs for fully vaccinated folks starting with approved backlog (Nov 2019)
Dec - PPR for Fully vaccinated folks

Please share your thoughts. Dire need for some positivity.
Hoping that it happens earlier than that. With the Indian Govt reducing the gap between two doses to 28 days for foreign travelers, it would be great if Canada starts rolling out confirmations ASAP. They can still block us from entering until we are fully vaccinated, but they can start sending passport requests. I dont know what's stopping them from doing that...

The COPR is valid until either your passports expires, medical expire, which ever happens first. COPR as such does not have an expiry date. The date that yous see if your PR visa date, i.e. you have to enter Canada on or before this date.

When you land, your cOPR will be stamped and effective that date you will attain the PR status. COPR can be used as a proof of your PR status.

I find this extremely optimistic, there might be another big wave before dec. India can inoculate 25-30% of population tops by year end. After this, even if they start with backlog, i really doubt they will do a FCFS. They might do in reverse order of covid group applications on top of that they might issue to students first , married couples.. then single folks. I for one am not keeping any hopes on PPR, this has only hindered my life plans and goals for the past 2 years.

In the most optimistic scenario, do you think when border will be opened for COPR holders?
Of course. Why wouldn't it be? The borders for COPR holders should open sometime at the end of July or mid-August. Should not be delayed beyond that.

In spite of relying on speculations by members here, rely on solid hard data points. Of course things can change, but as of now, it looks more and more likely that end of July is what we should be looking forward to.

Let's keep an eye out on today's announcement by Bill Blair

AOR January 16, 2020. FSW-Inland candidate. As per GCMS notes, my application was approved in July 2020, but never closed. Medicals expired on January 3, 2021. Got a ghost update and found that medicals was re-approved on June 4, 2021. I am guessing, people who get their medicals extended got COPR within 3-4 weeks, is this still the case? Can anybody please tell about their experience? Thanks in advance!
