We are pleased to inform you that your request for an exemption from these
requirements for the purpose of processing this application has been approved.
In addition, you have been granted an exemption from the following requirement of the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Act:
• A38(1)(c) Medical inadmissibility
You must meet all other requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its
Regulations, such as medical, security, passport and arrangements for your care and support. As your
application is processed, separate decisions will be made about whether you meet these other
Congratulations @Ramone1 to you and your family.

Am super worried now that my lawyer updated the immigration about my wife's illness but never asked for exemption from medical inadmissibility. Can we ask for medical exemption after Aip ?
May I have your lawyer's number to discuss. I will pay consultation fee. Please help.

This is why I don't trust lawyers from the very beginning I did all the research and provided all the evidence to my idiot lawyer. She fixed the fee at $ 6000 and layer on after submitting the application , she sent a bill of $12000.
Nothing was suggested by her but I read the federal court judgements and did all the work. But when my wife was in the hospital for about two months for open heart surgery , I couldn't think much about medical inadmissibility. And now the fear of medical admissibility is over our heads because we never applied for medical exemption.
Moral of my story is Never trust lawyers and do your own research and double check the lawyers whAt they are doing for you.

You are 100% spot on. I can't stress this enough!

To everybody using a new lawyer (including me)

Just because you have a lawyer does not mean sh*t. you have to do MOST of the work yourself. do NOT always trust all they tell you. seek a second opinion from people that have been through the h&c process. Lawyers( good or bad) do NOT give a rat ass about a client application. what is MORE important to them is "money". Win or Loose, they will always get their money off you!

Never depend so much on them. I lost about 10,000 dollars in making this mistake in my first application. when a lawyer tells you something that does not make sense to you, SEEK A SECOND OPINION FROM SOMEONE WHO has BEEN THROUGH THE H&c PROCESS ( FOR EXAMPLE, THIS FORUM HAVE Experienced people that have been through it)

Lastly, ensure you are monitoring and always checking the work they are doing for you. don't trust what they say with their mouth. Insist you want to see evidence of what they have done!

yes absolutely agree. Our last lawyer said it is pointless to file new HC application after we got refused second time. And that filing JR is also pretty much pointless. She said to wait for CBSA to schedule deportation and then we will file stay of removal (for 10,000$ of course).

Previous lawyer told us to leave Canada and look for a new country to settle in (what a great piece of advice - we paid 300$ for consultation!)

I did not buy that. I cancelled all of them and I remembered one guy on the forum from Alberta who said he re-applied fresh HC after refusal and got approved. So I told my spouse - "let's try again, we don't lose anything. Until you get deported, you are eligible to keep trying."

and we applied 3rd time ourselves and it worked this time.

Listen to lawyers' opinion but don't take it as the universal truth. Don't let anyone write your future other than yourself.

When you receive AOR you can log into ECAS to see your application updates

Does your wife need ongoing treatment? If not then her costs in the future will be low although you will be responsible for repaying your current medical costs.

Agreed with you my laywer is really good person but as per my previous experience I double check my h&c before submitting so I got some errors in date of births and some in uci numbers so I also suggest people as mr Raisaab said you must check your application before submitting

Hey, we had really bad week 5 refusals
There were quite a few approvals and H&C is difficult to get, you don’t expect all to be approved. Have you indicated what part of the world you are from? The member doesn’t feel that you would face huge hardship in returning home. Hard to know how reasonable or unreasonable that suggestion is without knowing where you are from or at least the general area.

I am from one of the shittedt asian country which is so fucked up right now. i told my lawyer everything but he didnt attxh all evidence that i told him to. And i got one if the shittedt officer who picked up little detail and asked for evidence which my lawyer didn’t sent.

Don’t worry about how long you are here. What really matters is what you could acomplish in this time and your humanitarian reasons. I personally know a family that had been living here for only for 2,5 years when they applied and they got their PR months ago.
