We don't know her full story. But some people inside Canada change status from work permit to visitor while waiting for new LMIA and apply for new WP thru border visit. That strategy can prolong their stay inside Canada.It took me 2 years delayed because of that LMIA and covid. Yes, I understand that she doesn’t have to work the same employer. But my point is, why did she allow the ircc to prolong her PR for 2 years??? It should be 6 months only (if with 24 months). My sister got their PR after 6 months of application only.

I think, in my opinion, the reason why they issue open work permit to her is prolly she applied for it too. I mean you kinda have too especially if you're inside Canada with an expiring work permit so you'll be able to get the implied status. That's kinda what I had to do as well. I submitted my PR application Dec2019 and then 3 months before my work permit expire (they only recommend 30 days actually before expiry) I applied for BOWP and up until now I'm under implied status. That is very important especially if you choose to stay inside while waiting for PR approval. Also it gives you an advantage to work for whatever and how many jobs you want while waiting for PR approval. PR processing is dead long, I'm pretty sure after eligibility next would be medical then last one is interview...I think I also saw this post. But I was wondering why she was still issued OWP when she submitted proof of 24 months Canadian work experience along with her PR application. It should have been straight PR approval already. Because OWP is supposed to go along with stage 1 PR approval (which means IRCC will not finalize your application yet until they receive your proof of 24 months canadian work experience).
She prolly submitted under Bridging open work permit. you can always do that as long as you submitted a PR application first and your current status inside is expiringI don’t get it. She had 24 months experience SINCE 2019 and no PR approval for 2 years? That’s looooong overdue for her. So she’s working the same employer for 4 years now?
I thought you cannot send 2 separate applications under the PILOT program. I guess, she’s not under pilot. She’s still under the old caregiver program.
I applied 3 work permits (different employers) under the old caregiver program within 2 years. It’s a long story why it happened to me, but blame it on LMIA. One LMIA is equals to 6 months of waiting. So do the math why it took me 2 years. My second work permit is not used due to covid. I’m using my 3rd work permit now (which I got within 2 days only from the ircc. LMIA processing took me about 6 months). I don’t know about border visit without US visa.We don't know her full story. Thank you for your encouraging words. But I’m not expecting it soon, because i only have few months of work experience and I submitted it last October only. I’m praying that they will prolong the deadline of the special pathway to PR for essential workers until January next year. I might shift to that pathway instead. PR is 6 months you are right but then don’t forget COVID-19 hit us hard too ....I also submitted application for PR in March 2020 but here I am with no AOR .. it’s 1 year and 2 months of waiting for PR to processed .

There are many people who are waiting for their PR even they apply from more then 2 years now after completing 2 year work experience , I personally know 3 of them. One is waiting for only Medical from 2019 November now ircc again demanded pcc last month.Maybe, but 2 years of waiting for PR is totally insane. I don’t know anyone who waited that long.

Oh okay. That’s why the more that they need to prioritize them. It’s difficult to be away from their family for 4 years or more because of not having PR. That’s the reason why I said that it’s a fairy tale to give someone a PR without Canada experience.
