hi all, with the IRCC finally releasing the guidelines for applying to the new pathway, should I bother even considering it?
my AOR is November 30,
biometrics were completed Jan 12, and no updates since then...
I'm applying through CEC in-land.

I'm just not sure if the new program will be faster? (assuming I can even apply since I have an express entry application already)
i heard people saying these express entries might take way longer than 6 months and I'm starting to think the new pathway might be the new priority for IRCC and they will focus on that first? anyone else in the same position?
Judging by the forms you need to fill in, i.e., IMM0008 (Generic application form), IMM5669 (schedule A - Background/Declaration), and IMM5562 (travel history) amongst others, I cannot imagine the processing to be faster than Express Entry, where the forms are all integrated into the system.

They'd still have to process eligibility, criminality, security and info sharing of each application just as they do with those in the express entry streams, and, considering that it takes over 6 months for many to have their criminality passed alone in express entry, I'd say your wait will likely be extended if you choose to jump ship now because they might just have to restart everything from scratch.

With little to no transparency, you never know how IRCC will be processing these; but if I have to place a bet on it, to keep up with IRCC tradition, I'd say slowly would be the right adverb to describe the upcoming processing times of these new streams.

Also, you've waited this long, just wait a little longer and save yourself a little over a $1000.

Just my $0.02. With the unpredictability of IRCC, I could also be very wrong about this and you might just save yourself months of waiting by going for it...

I just received my GCMS note yesterday. E: Passed, Crim: Passed, Med: Passed, Security: Not started. my application was assigned to CB01126. VO1: Operations Support Centre, VO2: Ottawa, VO3: Edmonton.

I call IRCC last week and the agent told me that the last time IRCC updated my application was Jan 14.

I'm BCPNP Inland AOR Nov 5th. I heard that IRCC isn't processing PNP and FSW. I don't know when my security is initiated. Do you guys know why I have 3 secondary offices?

I have raised it on Twitter that IRCC should process atleast inland PNP. We are all stuck at security not initiated.

Thanks for the reply @legalfalcon . Today I called them again as yesterday's agent is not that friendly. And agent confirmed that application is approved and if COPR not received by month end, call them back.
That is a great news!!

Hey guys,

What’s the best path to get to talk to an agent over the phone and get updates on an application?

When I call 888-242-2100, I get lost in automated menus and not sure which option to chose for that purpose.

(FSW Inland - AOR November 6th).

Thanks.

Hello @caipsnotes sir hope you are well. I raised a webform to know an update for my application. The response was the following:

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that the application is still in process.

All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only.

It seems to be a very generic reply hence writing to you as to what should I make out this response as I am a NOV 13 2020 AOR WITH MEP NOV 18 2020.

Any inputs from your end would be appreciated.

I see some people said they might withdraw their EE application and apply under the new program. Can someone please share a link that prevents them from having 2 applications at the same time? I know the new program lets you apply for multiple streams, if you qualify, and pay separate fees (money making program)

There is no rules that bars you from filing multiple applications. However, IRCC may place one application on hold until the previous one has been processed.
