Done Sir, thank you.

I have applied for GCMS on Feb 11, 21 but got a reply from GETGCMS that due to Covid-19 there will be a delay to transmit my GCMS, wait for 90 days.
90 day delay to get gcms due to covid-19? You are being provided misleading information. Some/one GCMS provider has disproportionately been receiving 90 day extensions, so beware from where you request.

The unfortunate part is that IRCC has categorized 3rd party GCMS providers into tiers when it comes to extensions.

As a result some 3rd parties will fairly consistently receive 90 days extensions when you get gcms while others receive 60 day extensions if and when extensions are taken

These actions of IRCC were revealed in response to an ATIP request and are an undisputed fact.

CBSA on other hand has a better track; review this detailed comparison for requesting Gcms Notes from IRCC vs CBSA https://bit.ly/34nuJPu

Thanks for the detailed reply, below is the response I got from GETGCMS;

We have received a communication from IRCC in response to your request for the GCMS notes, wherein it has been informed:

that in accordance with the Access to Information Act, an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is due to a large number of records or necessitates a search through a large number of records and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the government institution. See section 9(1)(a) of the Access to Information Act.
Please guide? @caipsnotes @legalfalcon

Can you please answer my below query?

I have applied for IRCC GCMS notes on 5th March from the ATIP portal. After submission, I received an email with a temporary request number from ATIP stating that my request will be completed in 30 days. I know due to COVID there are delays but I haven't received any further email of extension and nether the GCMS notes. So should I wait or follow up with ATIP Division on this?

As per IRCC's 2019-2020 ATIP report 49% of the requests filed with IRCC were delayed and 6% took longer than 120 days to be released.

If you have crossed 30 days, you can contact IRCC, and depending on whether you requested your GCMS note under the Privacy act, you can file a complain with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as per section 29 of the Privacy Act, and if you filed your request under the Access to Information Act, you can file a complaint with the Information Commissioner of Canada in accordance with section 30 of the Act.

Congrats. I have the same Aor and same Vo but I am FSW inland. What was your status before receiving this update? Was security in progress?
