I have the same experience as you. On January they sent me an email saying my medical extended to June 30,2021. However, on March they sent me another email saying my medical already expired. What the hell is that? Now I passed an interview with a Canada company but can't start the job because can't landing.
Yeah, I know this is really frustrating. My US visa is about to expire. Quick questions: when did your medical expire originally? Did they email you about the extension before or after the original expiration date? My medical expired last December (together with COPR) but haven't been contacted at all. Thanks.

my medical and COPR also expired last December, then on January 2021 they sent me an email asking me whether I am ready to move to Canada soon and extend my medical exam to June 30, 2021 as well. Then on March they said my medical already expired, that's really a slap in their face.

It seems that their decisions are kinda spontaneous. Who to contact, whether to extend medical, etc. BTW, would you mind letting me know the email address that email was sent from? I wanna check my spam box in case I missed it. Thanks.

I sent a web form telling them my COPR expired and I am now ready to travel so please extend my COPR (in a very polite way) but they did nothing to initiate the extension. Instead, they just sent a generic reply that referred me to their official website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html#expired which didn't help at all. This is some bullsh*t! Does anyone else have a similar experience?
Yes me. Basically, they no care. Just copy paste some random email template to us...

So dumb. Why offer extend (seems they knew will expire) and then time pass and then "hey it expired". Demented? They seem shock (despite acknowledge the medicals expire and help to extend).

"Hey you will need $10 to buy this candy... 10 mins later - why you ask me you need $10?"

Quick question: for people who have already completed the COPR & visa extension process: how long did it take you from initiating the extension to getting the new visa? Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone,

It's been exactly a month since I responded to the 'Do you still want to immigrate?' email.

I have a ghost update in my profile.
My application status changed to 'Application/profile updated'.

The latest update shows - We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Also received this update yesterday. I replied to the "Do you still want to immigrate" email on 29th March.

May I ask why call it a ghost update? Is it something which happens due to an error on their side?

That's great!

We call it a ghost update coz we are not notified by email about the changes to our profiles.. it just happens in the background... Don't worry, it's not an error :)

Same has happened with me and my old documents have been removed
Almost the same timelines for me. Received the email on 29th March, I responded on 1st April. I got a ghost update, but I also received a ghost email :p cause when I logged in to my account I see that the profile is changed to submitted, and previous Approved is now:
  • Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
Hopefully this means, we may get a re-medical request soon. And be issued new CoPRs. I'm a pre-March 18.

Hi, thanks for the info, can you please tell me how many days do they give you to land in Canada after you receive your new COPR, or can you land any day before your COPR expires( assuming your COPR expires 1yr after the date of your medical examination)

I was granted a COPR with a validity of 6months. You may only land with valid dox. But the question is can you board a flight with such travel restrictins?

I am a pre march 18 copr holder as well.. COPR expired on dec 4th 2020 - IRCC contacted me on december 30th giving me the option to fly by feb 2021 with a extension of 2 months or redo medicals if i plan on travelling at a later stage. Redid my medicals on Jan 16th, passed the medical exam on Jan 27th, and nothing since then, it's been almost 3 months now. Not sure how long it will take to send me a PPR.

Good luck and keep us posted.
