Hi Everyone,

So I'm currently located in Canada, and I have submitted my CEC application by the end of March 2021 (along with all the documents necessary). I understand that the process will take approx 6 months till I get my PR. However, my Post Graduation Work Permit is expiring very soon (at the beginning of October 2021) so does my Temporary Resident Visa.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I heard from someone that we have to maintain a legal status in Canada until we get our PR, otherwise, the IRCC might potentially reject our PR application if we don't have a legal status in Canada (eg. visa & bridging open work permit). That said, can anyone advise me what I should do if I still don't have my PR ready? Should I apply for a bridging open work permit and Temporary Resident Visa? so that way I won't lose my legal status in Canada. I'm really confused about the rules and how to go about it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, You said you have a post-graduation work permit why don't you apply for an 18-month work permit extension? if you think you are eligible you can extend your work permit for 18 months then you don't need to worry about your status. Read about this more here.

My husband is also is a student and he will be done his Maters course in coming July and visa will be expired on 31st July. . And I have already applied for the PR(with PNP nomination) and my open work permit will be expired in July 2021. My consultant advised me to apply for the bridging open work permit and my husband has to extend his student visa for another few months (PGWP takes sometime)as we have to maintain our legal status.
Hope this helps some extent.

Hi thanks a lot for the advice. I was wondering if you also need to extend your visa in addition to the bridging open work permit to maintain your legal status in Canada?

Need expert advice on this matter. I recently got ITA under CEC .
I have been working in a company as a packaging supervisor for 1 year BUT the problem is its an group of companies working under 1 parent company and abc company making our pay check instead of parent company but all these company has same physical address . Following are my concern
1. For refrence letter is it good if i use the letter head of company that actualy making my pay.
2. As everybody in the office has parent company name under their digital signing .does it create any problem in my refrence letter as it made on abc company but signed by parent company
You better use the company you're receiving pay & your T4 forms are from!

Hey guys.. Just curious to know did anyone got their medical pass or biometric request?
On the Immitracker it shows only a couple of people with AOR April 2021 with MEP and bio? But also people in last phase of march still waiting to get mep? so maybe we can expect to see people getting mep and bio req in one to two more weeks
