I recieved an email today indicating application profile is updated. After couple of ghost updates I was surprised to see that the update was that of medical exam request for both me and my wife. Our medical status changed form being passed to "We have requested a medical exam" .

Along with this we also recieved two IMM 1017E form. MedicalReport - SectionA Client Identification and Summary.

Has anyone else gone through a similar situation here ? If medical tests are valid for one year then we have ours valid till June of 2021. I was surprised to see both of us getting this request now after having our meds passed before.

Please let me know what you think @caipsnotes
This may not be a bad thing. At the final stage IRCC will also check if your medicals and passport are still valid. Before PPR is sent the details of an applicant's COPR, its expiration and the PR visa are input into the GCMS system. The COPR and PR visa cannot be issued by IRCC beyond the validity of the applicants passport or medicals, whichever expires first.

Ohh. I see! I noticed that GCMS is printed on the left bottom of the IMM 1017E form. Thanks for this info @caipsnotes
I spoke to MedTest Centre yesterday and they said they can't do the test until May and that they will confirm with CIC if they can go ahead with the test. Awaiting their reply. Will keep you posted. Thanks.
