Hello SUV Canada, Congratulations on your "Medical Exam Passed". As processing procedure, your application seemed to be already approved by IRCC and has been sent from IRCC to the Visa office. I am really sure that you are going to receive the "Passport Request" in a couple of months since my friend received the "Passport Request" after ~3 months from the date he passed the medical exam last year 2020.
By the way, could you please share your "timeline" from the date you had receipt of application No. such as whether you got the additional request docs or any update from IRCC before the "Medical exam"?
Thanks & Good luck
Cheers,

Hi,
a) Have already applied - then processing time is 31 months => The processing time tells you how long it took IRCC to process most complete applications in the past 12 months. Especially, IRCC now takes the first priority to process other applcations and our SUV applications are also under processing but only with a very limited IRCC capacity.
b) If you Have NOT yet already applied - then the processing time is 12-16 months => Yes, this is just an estimated and not accurate. In other words, this may be correct and applied for the one " Has not applied yet" and will apply in the future ...might be in 2022 when the Covid pandemic may be under control or over...!
Don't worry & Be patient
Cheers
Kai
Hi kai, The medical was passed in Jan 2020. It has been over one year and some further evidence was requested in Summer and nothing after that. Your friend was lucky to have passport request in 3 months.

Hello SUV Canada,
Wow, I thought that your medical would be just passed in Jan 2021 instead of 2020...it looks like a very abnormal case since medical test result is only valid for one year. As my understanding, the next request from IRCC should be a "Medical Exam Instruction letter" again and you will be asked to take the 2nd medical test as an update and the PPR will come immediately after' your 2nd medical test passed", I thought.
I assume that you have better ask your immigration agent to contact IRCC directly to clarify your application.
By the way, have you applied for the Work Permit as well or only applied for PR?
Good luck my friend!
Kai

Hi Kai, Thanks. Work permit was granted. The request for status update was sent to IRCC. We are waiting to hear back.
Hello SUV Canada,
Your case is different from my friend's. Since you applied for Work Permit so it was certain that you were requested to send the medical test at the same time. Therefore, your medical exam passed in 2020 just for your work permit issued. This didn't mean that one of the last steps of your application had been approved and IRCC sent to you the " Medical Exam Instruction letter" as my friend's. In normal circumstances, your application had been approved within one year from the date medical passed and you wouldn't need to take the updated medical exam anymore only your dependents would be requested. But in this case, I am really sure, your application hasn't been moved to the last steps and in case it will be approved in a couple of months you will be requested to take the "Medical Exam" again since the medical exam is normal valid only one year.
Anyhow, congratulations on your "Work Permit granted" this means your application must be considered as a great possibility so IRCC had granted you a "Work Permit".
All the best to you and hope you will receive reasonable feedback from IRCC soonest.
Cheers
Kai

Hello everyone,
Hopes everything is going well with all of you and ur family.
I'm waiting for the early step from IRCC to give me an AOR , I already got my temporary file number in last January.
I came across this topics and I'm curios which activity in this process is important for officers? Is there anyone who could help and advice me about ADR (not personal but about their startup. something like new reviewof biz plan or etc.

Hi Sharakova,
After you applied, the IRCC officer will process step by step as below :
  1. Review your application to make sure it’s complete
  2. Once you pay the biometric fee, send you or your family member a letter that tells you how to give your biometrics (if applicable)
  3. receive and review your or your family member’s biometrics after you have given them at a collection point
  4. decide if you’re eligible to apply to become a permanent resident of Canada
  5. tell you when we start processing your application,
  6. tell you how to get a medical exam, if you didn’t get one before sending in your application
  7. do a security screening to make sure all applicants don’t pose a risk to the safety and security of Canadians
  8. decide if you need to go to an interview
  9. tell you of the decision we make on your application
As my understandings, every step is important and essential. When the officers start processing your application if they find out some information that may be suspicious or not convincing they will send you an Additional Document Request letter (ADR such as: Proof of fund, Proof of Education or Working Experience,...) if not your application will go through to the next steps. Furthermore, if they assume that your SUV Project needs to be reviewed more carefully your application will be sent to a third party for investigating this is named as "Peer Review Step".
Therefore, Not all of SUV applicants will be received the ADR, only some of them may have and the others may not.
Hope it is useful for you my friend.
Good luck
Cheers

Yes, We are able to check our application status via IRCC Website by our Application Number. I mean the Permanent Application Number instead of the temporary file number. In your case, you should have to wait until you have the Permanent Application Number. In the past normal circumstances, The application status was updated in very detail but now it is just a piece of general information because of the pandemic.
Cheers,
Kai

hey Guys,

Is there any update on any of the applications? It's been Seven month's I passed the medical exam and turned in all ADRs that were requested. Have not heard anything back from IRCC or my Lawyer. Not sure if i should contact IRCC via webform directly?

Im a bit in a tricky situation here now - We had to shut down the US company and move the HQ to Canada- We are to take up an Enterprise customer and given that we won't be able to move the Invoice from US to Canada.

Should i reach out to IRCC directly myself?

Hi SUVApplicant.
Congratulations on your "Medical Passed" anyhow. Since this means IRCC has made the final decision on your application and the possibility of 99.9% has been approved. But there are no any more updates after 7 months from the date Medical Passed is a very abnormal case even in this pandemic circumstance, I thought. Therefore, you shouldn't ask IRCC directly and you have better ask your immigration lawyer to contact IRCC to clarify it since most Immigration Lawyers have direct contact with the IRCC officers.
For your information, I'd like to share the timeline of one of my friends who has just landed in Canada a couple of months ago.
He sent his application to IRCC on 7/2019
o Receipt of AOR & Biometric instruction Letter on 8/2019
o Receipt of the “Request for Additional Docs” (ADR) on 9/2019
o Receipt of the “Medical Exam Instruction Letter” on 7/2020
o 9/2020 => Interview: Only the Founder (CEO of the project) was invited for an interview.
o Receipt of the PPR “Passport request letter” on 6th October 2020
=> Landed in Canada a couple of months ago.
SUVApplicant, By the way, could you please share your timeline such as when did you submit your application, when you had ADR and "Medical Exam instruction letter" from IRCC?
Wish you will receive the PPR soonest
Good luck
Kai

Thank you Kai for the reply.

I used the same medical's I used for work permit. My medical's have expired now - however, the lawyer mentioned that it was extended by six months. Have not received any re-med request so far other than the NewBorns medical request.

WorkPermit was issued in Oct 2019. Was due to travel by end of Feb - but then Covid happened.

Here is my timeline:

AOR Feb 2020.
MEP: Aug 2020
ADR Aug 2020: Paystubs and updated PCCs and IMM forms.

Informed IRCC about wife's pregnancy: Sept 2020

Newborn Documents Uploaded: Nov 2020
NewBorn MEP: Nov2020.

After Newborns MEP - there has been no update. However, On Jan 4 i noticed on the IVR when i called IRCC - it said we are starting to process your background checks.

However, no update since then.
