No biometrics needed as I did one before.

My question is will cic automatically know that I did one before? , or will they ask me for a proof later that I did it before? , Till now they didn't ask me.

No, they won’t ask for proof. They will use your UCI to find if there’s any existing biometrics on their system and linked it to your PR application.

Again this was pre-covid so the timeline was fast. But the steps are still the same.

Has anyone been able to book an appointment for biometrics at any VAC in India after last week's update?

There hasn't been any update on vsf website relating to biometrics appointment as of now. Hoping by March, would hear something from them. Can't say though.

Actually, they had tweeted it last week that it's going to start next week but, unfortunately, released a new ambigious statement today that it will start in "near future". No idea what "near future" implies.
