@sg02 Please I’m in same situation as you, my application was just reopened after the fees had been refunded, but I already opened another application and paid the fees again, now IRCC is requesting for receipt of the old application i.e they want me to repay and attach receipt . Should I attach The receipt of the second (new) application and write a letter that they should close it. Kindly assist. Thanks.
Sorry I couldn't respond to this message earlier. We were in similar situation but we chose to pay again and submit the new receipt for RPRF. If you check my post right after the one you quoted, you will get the answer.

As soon as we send the payment receipts to IRCC, they attach / link those payments to particular applications. Assuming you have already sent the payment receipt for second application, it must have already been linked by now.

Its a long process to get that second application withdrawn and then get the refund for RPRF. I doubt they will re-link that second application's RPRF payment to your first (old) application. Don't worry about it, you will eventually get that money refunded.

Rather than that, focus on your re-opened application. I would suggest you to pay the RPRF right away and send the receipt for your re-opened application because based on my experience this application will get processed much faster (like it happened in my case).

@sg02 Hi sg, when they reopened your case did you have to withdraw the newer application or IRCC does it automatically? I am guessing they did not refund the application fees right?

thanks
Sorry for the delayed response.

a) It was a lengthy process to get the RPRF refund for second application. Because in order to request a refund, the payment receipt shouldn't be linked to any active application.

b) I raised multiple CSQs (Ottawa and NDVO) to withdraw my second application but NDVO was really slow. Since the second application was with NDVO, other Visa offices couldn't do anything to help other than to forward my request to NDVO.

c) My application was finally withdrawn successfully after I landed in Canada. Infact in the withdrawn confirmation letter from NDVO, here's what was they mentioned:

Please be advised that we have closed this application for permanent residence as you have already become a permanent resident of Canada on <XXX DATE>.

e) Now since my second application was withdrawn, I thought I would be able to initiate the refund request but I was still getting the same error for almost 5-6 months (so I kept raising CSQs every month):

We can't process your request because one of our offices is still working on your application.

f) IRCC did finally refund the money after 6 months from the withdrawal confirmation date (i.e. 1 year from the date of original application). The money was refunded to the original credit card which was used for the RPRF payment.

Hey, i submitted my PR application under CEC on 19th Aug 2020. After that i got refusal letter on 7th oct stating that my application was incomplete due to missing ECA of bachelor degree. But that was already in my application so i raised enquiry and then on 23rd i got email from cic that they transferred my information to officer and they are in processing to make decision for reopen the file. I am wondering how much time now this will take. Does anybody know about this ?

Hello guys

I am on closed work permit with positive LMIA.

I need urgent help. I realized that I forgot to include "skill type" in my "offer of employment" which is mandatory as per CIC instructions. I submitted the application 4 months ago. Its still in process. but I am scared of refusal for that reason. how can I send the updated document?

I know that we can raise web form but I am not sure if I should do that or not as it will be a totally new document and can get mix up with the one I have already submitted.
I am really confused. any help will be really appreciated.

PLEASE HELP

Hello everyone,

My PR application was rejected and I believe that the officer made a mistake in reviewing my application. I sent a reconsideration request through webform 6 days after I received the refusal letter. Now I have some questions and I really appreciate it if you can help me with them and share your experiences with me.
1- The only way to request reconsideration for PR application refusal is to send the request through webform?
2- How long does it take for IRCC to answer the reconsideration request?
3- If they do not accept to reopen the case, what else we can do if we still believe that a mistake was done in reviewing the application?

Hi
I have a similar situation as yours. May I know, did you receive any update post the email stating that your documents have been sent to the responsible officer for review?
My situation -
AOR- 27th Sept 2019
Refusal - 9th Oct
Refund of complete fees (paid upfront) - 16th Oct
Case re-open (without my request) - 17th Oct
Sent the requested PCC thru webform - 9th Nov
Acknowledgement email - 15th Nov
There hasnt been any change in my profile since i sent the documents.
Any insights on my situation any1?
Hello,
Could you please give updates on your application? Thank you.

Hey @sg02

What happened with your reopened application? Got approved? And if yes, how long did it take?

I'm on similar situation, they reopened my application that was previous refused due to a mistake from CIC. I'm waiting for a month already with no news. They even refund the application fees and haven't asked to pay it once again. Now I'm wondering how long it may take.
Was the case reconsidered voluntarily by ircc? What was the outcome? Was it positive?
