Hi, can my uncle sponsor her niece in the Philippines?

Only under very limited circumstances...

How old is she? Is she an orphan (i.e. both parents deceased)?

Do you (the uncle) have a spouse and/or children? Are either of your parents still alive? Do you have any family members in Canada?

She is 25, both parents are still alive but the uncle wants to help her migrate to Canada.
He's married with one child. Mother is alive but based in the Philippines. His wife have relatives in Calgary

If your uncle has family in Canada (married with kids) and a mother, he is not eligible to sponsor his niece. She must immigrate on her own merits.

As said above, she cannot be sponsored by her uncle. She will need to qualify to immigrate on her own through an economic immigration program like Express Entry.

Hey Scylla,

I have a similar question. I intend to sponsor my orphaned 13yr old niece. I and my wife are expecting our first baby in May. My parents are alive and almost 80. Any advice?
