I just received the Biometrics letter (AOR: Jan 2, 2021, FSW Outland), but no news on medicals yet. 2 questions:

1. From what I've read, it looks like BIL and MEP occurs together on the profile? If so, should I be concerned that I got BIL but no MEP today?
2. For biometrics, the next available appointment at the nearest VAC is almost a month away (Mar 1). Will this cause delays in processing, or will other steps happen in parallel?
I can't answer question one but for question two where do you live? For example for me I took a day off and travel to a very remote VAC and got my biometrics done for my work visa. But that's inland so may not apply to your case. On cic website they do mention that the 6 month processing time does include the time you need to get your biometrics so your application will most likely continue to process while you are in line to get your bio.

6 months ?
You may need to give biometrics with your application. This processing time includes the time you need to give your biometrics.

Same goes for FSW

That's great, thank you!
I'm in the US (California bay area), and all nearby locations have appointments available only after Feb 22.

Hello everyone,

I received my AOR a week ago, and I have a question regarding my proof of funds. Since I transfer a fixed amount of money to my parents for household expenditure every month (to the same account), would IRCC consider it as a suspicious payment? Should I consider submit an additional letter of explanation about this?

Thank you very much!
Not Required. Please make sure to keep the minimum amount of funds required for PR until you get an COPR

Is it possible for FSW applicants to pay biometric fees upfront, or only when CIC sends us BIL?
I was able to pay it upfront while submitting the application, and now the BIL letter says it can be considered proof that the biometrics fee has already been paid.

How can I pay it upfront? I only had 2 options during submitting my application
- Processing fees (825 cad) which I paid
- permanent Resident fees (500 cad) which I haven't yet

Oh, that's strange - I also had a third row for Biometrics fee (85 CAD).
