Dont jump to conclusions yet. Travelling at short notice is not easy. Please read the "Are you able to travel soon" email and verify what is mentioned in email regarding AL? If they issue AL then further issuance will not be possible or something like that?

Generally when AL is issued it is mentioned in it that if you are not able to travel within AL's validity then your application will be left open and actual CoPR and PRV will be issued once you are ready to travel. Usually on remeds after notification from IRCC a new CoPR is updated on GCkey with 1 year's validity (at least in my case ; VO New Delhi).

There are no official dates announced yet for hotel stay rule if I am not wrong. Once they are out then you can act accordingly.

Let the things clear out in coming days.
Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the "Are you able to travel soon" email says the following: "Please note that if new travel documents are issued to you, IRCC will send you a letter that will be valid for up to 60 days (but not exceeding your medical or passport validity), and it may not be possible for IRCC to issue you with another extension."

This is exactly my concern - in the off chance that I am given an AL in the next 15-20 days, then I will have to travel to Canada regardless of my circumstances by February 28th, or risk losing my application for good - Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is exactly what you've also mentioned in your response?

Given that I had responded positively to the "Are you able to travel soon" email while there were no additional restrictions, I am only wondering if sending another response explaining that my circumstances have changed as a response to the new restrictions will be a way to circumvent this AL deadline issue and directly go via the re-medical route (with extended COPR date).

Please let me know your thoughts on this. I am more than happy to wait for a few days to see what's developing, but these are my initial reflexes to this situation.

You can try to contact them and let them know your situation has changed and you're not ready to travel. It's worth a try. But remain prepared to fly by February 28th at the same time. In my opinion IRCC's actions are completely unpredictable at the moment, and there is a complete lack of communication with applicants. I've seen someone in another forum who was given an AL of literally 7 days because their medicals were about to expire. They had to pack and go.

Hi.. January has come to an end. I have not yet received any updates on my gc key account,or by emails. No remedical request also.
NDVO New Delhi
CoPR expired June 2020
Anyone in the same boat?
Hey man, have you sent an RTT and if so, when? CoPR expired on July 2020. Paris VO. Sent several emails since 23 November. 0 news so far.

A family member in Canada told me that federal workers are lazy as hell and because of covid they all work from home without anyone supervising them or their work productivity. She told me that with the new travel restrictions just declared by Trudeau there's little hope that things will move for me. I hope she's right. I quit my job to go to Canada but I think I'm going to start applying for jobs here again starting on Monday because who knows how long this is gonna take.

Hi all,
This group and its members have helped me a lot.Thanks.

Sharing my experience if it could help anyone.I sent RTT form in November 2020 but got no response until on 31st December I got AL.
I booked Emirates flight for 27th Jan 2021 via Dubai to Toronto.
I took my Expired copr,AL,Arrivecan,PCR test results. These were asked at both immigration counters in India and Toronto_Overall it was very smooth and no questions were asked apart this.

To all my fellow group members dont stress.I also quit my job last year to migrate to canada. Then I joined another company as the situation was so unpredictable. Then I quit again to travel. It has been a long journey with lots of emotional stress.
Don't worry hang in there.Your time will come.

Please ask me if you have any doubts I will be happy to help if I can.

In this situation I would consult IRCC call agents for suggestions or any piece of advise.

I received a 4 pointer email back in oct 2020 to demonstrate my willingness to travel in next 60 days so that AL can be issued. After 60 days, I received an email for remeds. I did remeds and in two weeks got AL valid for 2 months and new CoPR with 1 year validity.

If you are sure that you dont wanna travel if AL is issued to you in coming days and this 2k thing is demotivating you then its fine you can email them about your change of plans due to new restrictions announced.

What if hotel stay prices come out to be cheap and within expectations OR these new restrictions are implemented after Feb?

I dont think IRCC is gonna reject the application just like that. These are evolving times as processes and policies are changing on regular basis based on situation with CoVID.

Congrats!

For AL copy you used normal A4 sheet or bond paper?

Then you would be fine. Even if it was Toronto you would have been fine. These things are not clear for those who have connecting flights.
Yes, hopefully, we will have clarification on this soon about connecting flights. Toronto is where my connecting flight would be and the destination is Vancouver.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Could you please share your experience traveling with emirates?
  1. Which city did you fly out of in India?
  2. Did emirates issue a single tickets for both legs of the journey ( India to Dubai and Dubai to Toronto) or separate for each leg?
  3. Were you asked to get a transit visa for Dubai?
  4. How was the immigration/ boarding experience in India and Dubai?

@whyCorona for clarification, when this is mentioned in one's AL and generally that is the case, can one opt for the CoPR and PRV re-issuance if theirs was extended for one year?

Ok Guys, My situation is different than most of everyone from this Forum. I had used this forum for past one year to post queries and watch the latest updates and different process every has gone through. I am posting my experience now. Below are the details ;

- Myself(Principle Applicant) living in Canada & Family in India
- PR Approved prior to March 18,2020, however COPR got expired for all of us due to COVID-19 Travel Restriction.
- After hell lot of follow up, Finally got the remedical request for my wife in Dec,2020 and the same has done and passed in the same month.
- Jan 11th , I received AL only for my wife & daughter alone.
- But as a primary applicant my PR did not validated so, i was worried what will happen if they travel with AL ,but primary applicant did not landing .

But Finally, I received 3 email (one for each) stating that below info. I am very happy that now i am officially PR of Canada. I will be sending my photo to the address they mentioned and will get the PR card soon hopefully. Now i am planning to push my family travel with current date as i dont feel is now very much need as we all validated with PR. I will apply the PR card for them as well and i will go home when situation resolved and will bring them back.
The only thing i have to get it confirmed that what would be the process if they outside of Canada now. they asked send email in case if we are out side of Canada. So i probably will get calrified that alone. Thanks everyone for your help so far in the forum.

Please can you help explain the meaning of AL. I also need clarification on this new travel restrictions. Can’t imagine paying 2k dollars for 3 days just to quarantine , that’s like 10k for a family of 5. Please can someone help explain what can be done to extend your visa for at least 1 year. Mine will expire in May . Thanks
