Hello Everyone!

I am an MBA student in Canada (McMaster Uni) and my studies got over in December. I had come to India in November for some important work and completed my final month of studies from India itself (Online). I am planning to travel back to Canada in the first week of March.

My question is: My Study permit is Valid until 30th March 2021. So what is the latest I can travel back to Canada? 2 weeks before the expiry, 3 weeks of expiry or even 4 days before expiry (i.e. 26 March) is fine? Let me know what is safe.

My plan is to go there and apply for my PGWP and start working on implied status as i already have a job offer there.

Let me know.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ronit

As long as both sp and TRV are valid even last day, you also need to meet the new covid requirements

Thanks for replying.

I had one doubt, won't the immigration officers ask that your studies were over in December and your permit is expiring in 2 days, therefore you can't enter and stuff?

Also, yes, My SP and TRV are valid until 31st March.

When did you graduate (date) because your study permit expires 90 days after you graduate.

I graduated in December end. So 90 days would be again 30th March. My SP and TRV is also until that day.
So I was thinking if I book a ticker for 17th March, is that a safe option. I also have a valid job offer, so I can show I will start working as soon as I apply for PGWP.
Let me know if this fine.

That should work. You will need a 14 day quarantine plan.

Do you have a home in Canada? A lease that you have been paying while you were away? If not without a job offer you won’t meet the travel restrictions. You would need to show proof that you are returning to study if returning on your study permit.

I have a job offer with me.
Also, My friend went back to Canada On 24th Jan and his studies also ended in December. He wasn't asked about his studies as his permit was still valid.

I came in November for some urgent work. I am from India and as per the restriction right now, I can travel back if I have a valid Study permit, which i have.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

By quarantine plan you mean a proof of a place to stay right? Like the address of the apartment I would be living in or the AirBNB booking for those 14 periods if I do that?
