IRCC Testing New Permanent Resident Confirmation Portal

... Does anybody know what they actually do after they get your address? I mean the whole application is already approved, they just need to send a copr letter, right?
I get that they need to check the photo so that it meets the requirements for the PR card, but isn't it just an email with the copr and that's it?!!

Quick Update from my side.
I had provided email ids on 19th Dec 2020 for my family in one single email. It was from Etobicoke office. I received the portal details today which I will respond in 1-2 days.

FYI, I just called IRCC and they told me that given that now the office has to do all the landing process themselves (instead of the applicant going to the port of entry, etc) and because they have received *a lot* of files that are waiting for such procedure (landing), it may take a while to get the CoPR.
I asked for an estimate on how long it will take and the person I talked to said that it was impossible to tell how long it will take. She reassured me that it will eventually happen and that I just need to wait.

No idea how big is the queue though, obviously they can't provide that information.
So in conclusion, it might come tomorrow or take a while. At least they are on it.

C'est la vie my friends. What sucks the most about this whole portal thing is people either got approved very quickly (within a week), or have been endlessly waiting for the approval for weeks(or months? who knows?). Me and a friend both received the same emails from Etobicoke office on Dec 8th and submitted the address and photo at the same time. He received eCOPR 2 days after submission and even received his PR card 1 week after that which is ridiculously fast, while I am still waiting for the eCOPR.

I have sent an email to MP who is also immigration minister highlighting the issue with this portal but no response to date. I should request to other fellow applicants to send email to the minister and highlight the glitch in the system waiting for a month or so for ecopr. It will definitely raise the alarm to act if he received number of emails for this issue. Otherwise we have to follow wait and watch situation.
His email id is - marco.mendicino@parl.gc.ca

You will most likely receive no response from him. They are aware of these inefficiencies and use COVID as an excuse for practically everything. I don't know why they decided to go with this portal idea as everything was fine when they sent the COPR through email. Unless otherwise indicated, they can just use the photo that we submit during e-APR and use our mailing address on the application to automatically send the PR card to our address once they approve the application. The mailing address is a dead giveaway to determine if a candidate is in Canada or not and they could ask candidates that are not in Canada to raise a webform if they are currently outside Canada or have recently changed address. Either way, a change in address should be informed to IRCC through a webform.

Same with me, I got the email on Jan 4th and responded the same day. No login credentials yet. Reading this thread and many others I know they are working through a backlog. Let me know when you get your credentials and I will do the same!
