Hi Friends, I have a question regarding spousal sponsorship. I had applied for PR for my wife outland application last month. In the additional family information form IMM5406, we entered my wife's mother name as per the information in her mother's passport. However, in the birth certificate we provided, her mother name has different surname because her mother changed surname only after few years after marriage. Will this be a problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shouldn't be a problem, if they don't understand the name change they will ask for clarification.

Dears,
Please advise, I have received my CoPR , but have not landed in CANADA. Mine was a single applicant. I'm applying for a visitor visa for my daughter. In the application ' Do you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is 18 years or older? ' whether it should be Yes or NO. ?? Please guide

Was she declared as a dependent?

But obviously she is not a citizen or PR, as neither of those can apply for visitor visas.

Whoops, struck that as realise I misunderstood your question. Answer is still no, as you are not a PR yet. You may wish to include a short letter or explanation that you are not a PR but have a COPR.

It's OK brother sometimes happens to me too

To process the spousal sponsorship backlog, IRCC has "reassigned staff from other business lines that had a slightly lower volume of work" as well as hired new staff.

Hey guys

Planning to sponsor my spouse to Canada (I am a Canadian PR who extended in 2019). I had left Canada in February for my wedding in India in the summer but unfortunately due to events we had to postpone it. I did not return to Canada as marriage plans had moved to winter and I was working from home (self employed). Now I am married but reading previous pages it seems that if you're not residing in Canada the application can get rejected, is that correct? Anyone who can help me with this??
To sponsot a spouse or parent you need to be resident of Canada if you stayoutside more than 6 month they will ask you to return back to canada and meet residency requirement

Can a Canadian citizen leave country for 1 month to visit his/ her spouse while file is in process??(After getting medical and biometrics done)

Yes. No issues for Cdn citizens.
Where is it mentioned officially that it's an issue for PRs? Can you direct me? I can't seem to find that clause. The only thing that is mentioned is PR can't sponsor from outside the country. I didn't find any Clause specifically saying PR can't leave the country :(

It says PRs must reside in Canada. Stop residing and it can be cancelled for sponsor eligibility. PRs probably fine for shorter trips eg less than a month.
