Hi @legalfalcon. Just confirming again regarding the water damage on passport. I will apply for a new passport soon. But is water stain on passport a reason of rejection?

IF you have a valid passport, that is all what is required. If your passport is damaged it is your responsibility to renew it and get a new one.

However, having a few stains on your passport is not a ground of rejection.

See the damage and use your judgment. Ask yourself, can you travel with that passport and if your answer is no, and you won't be allowed to enter a country with a damaged passport, then you should immediately get a new one.

The thing is if I add jan 2020 onwards, it asks for malaysia pcc.
I have applied for malaysia pcc a month ago and still havent received it yet.

Hi @legalfalcon I would be submitting my application soon. And the current passport is all I have. I have a stain and the passport issuing officer's sign are smudged. Rest all is fine. Should I explain something? What should I do?

@legalfalcon just got my gcms Eligibilty is passed security not started but when I called last week I was told that both Eligibility and security has been passed. The notes I notice that I can see just notes from programme assistant and case processing agent. Does this mean that the eligibility will still have to be passed again by an officer ?

Hi, I have the same situation. Despite the fact that I see Eligibility as "Passed" in the statuses on the 2nd page, in the Notes section I see that only Case Processing Analyst assessed my case. My security and criminality has not started yet.

Hey @legalfalcon I have a question regrading permanent residence file under express entry. If you have applied under cec and claim points with closed work permit (applied for work permit as lmia was about the expire, applied for work permit so that Lmia points still can be claimed). Do you still stay bounded to a specific employer once you get copr but before getting actual pr card or you can start working for other employer as well? Thanks you

The rule is 10 years. IRCC can ask for any PCC even it may not show as required in the application.

I have already answered your question a few times, and you are asking the same thing over and over again.

If your passport is damaged, then you should get a new one issued. If you do not have a new one yet, you can used the current one to apply and in the LoE explain that you have requested a new passport since your current passport is damaged and you will update as soon as you get a new passport.

Once you get the new passport, send the scan of biographical pages to IRCC via webform.

The GCMS notes are generated a few days after the request is filed. See at the bottom of any page of the GCMS notes for the date of generation. It is as on the date of generation how your application looked like is captured in the GCMS notes.



If your called IRCC after the GCMS notes were generated, then there could have been some progress in your application, which may not have been captured in GCMS.

The eligibility takes place in two stages. First an analyst or an assistant will review and make a recommendation. This can be recommended passed / Met / etc. This recommendation is then reviewed by an officer who makes a final determination.

If you are in Canada and have received a cOPR, you are then a PR and all your existing visas will be cancelled. As a PR, you can work for any employer.

If you are outside Canada, and you are yet to land, and have a COPR, then you will not be a PR, unless you land in Canada.

Does it mean that your company that you had lmia with and got copr with. Can’t force you to stay with them and threaten you that they are gonna report ircc before you get your pr card that you left the job and you were on a closed work permit with them ( that is the scenario before getting your pr card but after copr).

After you become a PR, you can work for anyone, including opening your own company. Whether you were on a closed WP, or not does not matter. If you have no employment contract to work for an employer for a specific duration that you signed, you need not worry and no one can compile you to work for a company where you do not want to.

Your PR is not conditional on your job with a specific employer.

Info sharing refers to sharing of info between different countries, primarily, US, NZ, Australia, and UK. There are agreements in place with these countries to get info about criminality, immigration fraud etc. This is what is done in info sharing.
