Hi,
They are calling and getting the number by phone. However, this number not official, as it's not in the processing system yet. what I understood that they scan all applications into receiving system, then depending on receiving date, they open the file and give the official file number which is the same number without X.
I am not sure if it help with WP application, but if you feel you have no other alternatives, then you can try and get it to include it with your WP application with your explanation letter.

Can you please me where we can call to get the temporary file number. Thank you

I'm planing to do it at the begining of December, as the estimated completion date is on December 6th. That can ensure my medical will not expire before the completion. Thank you for your suggestion!

Yes. I did upfront medical exam on 25th Sep and submitted on 26th Sep. Medical was passed on 3rd Nov.
