Hi folks!
My school is now in DLI list. And I have a question.

As my program is delivered fully remotely for Winter 2021, I made some plans regarding my wedding, etc, since in the website of the college it stated that students didn't have to be in Canada.
I am well aware that I have to attend at least 50% of the school duration and will arrive in Canada in April.

My question is : after receiving the study permit, can I still be based in Turkey receiving the classes remotely from my home country as the classes will be delivered remotely? And eventually heading to Canada in April.

I appreciate your kind help folks
As far as I know, you can continue your study if your school offers a remote option. There is nothing to do with IRCC. It's your responsibility to manage the time outside of Canada for pgwp purposes. I think that's fine.

My school is not on the list (again) despite getting readiness approval. I don't think my school is guilty about this case. They report on any positive or negative situation. I think the relevant institution has problems with process management. They don't know what they're doing
Yes, even though schools notified that their plan is approved, they are not listed. It's the way IRCC controls the student flow to the country. The next update on November 17 and your DLI will be on the list on that date.

My school's plan still pending approval. I believe I see my school in the list on December 1 update.

Any important information stated in the interview?
Mostly the same information on the canada.ca. These are the important ones I remember;
  • If your DLI is on the list, VO will issue PPRs very soon.
  • If your DLI is on the list and you didn't get PPR yet, it means something in your file didn't complete such as a security check, etc.
  • All the files are handled with first in first out principle. But it all depends on the completeness of your file.
  • If you have a valid visitor visa on your passport, they will not request your passport. You will get only the port of entry letter via gckey.
  • If your DLI is on the list, and your visa is approved, you can travel to Canada even your classes are online.
Also, she said they were issued many PPRs to students after October 20 and some of them already traveled to Canada.

edit: guys forum moderators removed the youtube link I posted before this post. what an awkard behaviour.

Yes you should expect only POE letter.

You will get your decision letter and port of entry (aka letter of introduction) letter via gckey. They only send AIPs via e-mail.

If you get your AIP directly via gckey, it is better. There is no mistake mate, don't worry.

Ankara office generally send AIPs via e-mail but it does not mean that your AIP is invalid since you got through gckey.

Why would you get AIP if you applied after September 15? When is start date of your program?

InItially it was fall 2020 but because of pandemic, I defer it to Winter 2021 and applied with new loa. About AIP I am really curious about that.

My university was listed on 20 October . I received AIP but I have not yet received passport request. Waiting desperately. I applied Student Visa at the beginning of June.
