Indian candidates are screwed. I have biometrics pending for 5 months now for my GTS work permit and VACs are still closed in India. I am sure there will be lot of people under the same boat.

Hey don't get dis-hearted. We will surely getting our passport request this month. As in twitter today Nadir Patel Canadian Embassador to India has announced that VFS will be closed for In person for month of November. This means they right now prioritising approved or complete applications. So we might get passport request soon in upcoming days or in couple of weeks. Don't worry. Also it's sounds bad to new applicants & Biometric pending applicants that they cannot submit biometric now to advance their applications. But in a way it's good for us as they are completing the pending applications reducing backlogs.
Just hang in there for few more weeks.
We should be getting passport request soon.
BTW my Submission date is 14th February & Approval date is April 19th.
Thanks
Based on the current trend ,IRCC mostly focused on Study permit and Spouse visa ,i don't think so they will look any pending files for work permit applicants from india specially .

Yes, We are screwed, but you can opt for Dubai to complete your biometrics.

by that way, your application starts moving.

Woow that's really great news then. Even i too applied my work permit in February 14th. Also my gcms notes too suggest my work permit is approved & counterfoil is generated. Can you please send me your quarantine plan to me too at here arunesh.vikram@gmail.com.
Thanks for great news.
Can you please provide your timeline.

I am in the same boat just waiting for a final decision after receiving a biometric correspondence letter. I am thinking to opt for GCMS notes too.

if you are referring to Biometric Validation Letter (BVL) or Correspondence letter. It gets updated half way through the processing of any application ( i have seen it even takes 3 months for applns submitted from India), in fact mostly they take final decision the same day they send the correspondence letter. Moreover, their website clearly says ' starts the day we receive your complete application'. So, wondering where the confusion is...
I got my biometric correspondence letter on Oct 26th waiting for final decision.

I am not sure what to expect next now.

My application was approved today. I got the biometrics validity letter, and the correspondence letter (IMM5812), but not the passport request. There's no mention of submitting my passport for stamping before entry in the letter, and it says "If you pass the identity check and meet the entry requirements, the BSO will stamp your passport or let you know how long you can stay in Canada." I passed the id check and meet the entry req. Does this mean that I don't need to get my passport stamped before entry, but rather it will be stamped upon arrival at the airport?

ETA: I did some googling about my question and (although there's no definite answer I was able to find) I understand that temporary WP applicants applying from visa-exempt countries don't need to get their passports stamped before arrival. Is this correct?
Can you please share your timeline and visa type? when did you receive the correspondence letter? how do you know your application was approved? did you receive your final decision the same day of correspondence letter?

For India it is really very difficult to hear that permits are getting approved this days. Hope something good happens at least by the end of this year. Since VAC is also closed until September, so it really difficult to think anything positive now.

If you are eager to know about the current status of your application I'd advise you to order the GCMS notes.
I guess Most of WP gets process in Canada (CPC Edmonton office). if you complete all the steps including biometrics then it really doesn't matter even if Indian VACs are closed.

Thank You

Thanks buddy. Great to hear all the points that you mentioned. It is damn frustrating now and when you see things are not moving you somehow loose hope. Let them seriously look on the backlogs and I also feel why they are accepting applications now when they already have a mountain to climb.

I called NDVO today. The agent said she does not have any idea when we will be receiving our passport request. Also she did acknowledged the fact that they are dealing with huge backlogs of approved applications & rolling out PPRs to some of them very slowly.
She didn't say much though.

Hey if you received your BVL letter & have not received refusal yet then. I am pleased to say my friend that your application must be approved. Now wait for PPR mail.
Where did you apply from? Your timeline please.
