It's frustrating, but at the same time, at least we all have PR. Canada doesn't owe us anything. We made the decision to move here. If getting a card takes longer than expected, then so it is. I'm grateful to be here.
We are all grateful to be here but one of the main reasons which differentiate this country should act and behave people in the same manner. It is not fair some people wait more than 160 days for the PR card and some people get theirs in less than 1-2 months. For the PR application, we could expect the time would be different for the background check but for the PR Card there is no background check and they should review applications based on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

I’ve been waiting for almost 5 months now. I dont stress myself of waiting because its a known issue due to covid. I dont have a valid reason to have my card expedited. But if ever i need to, then thats the time i have to request such.

Chill comrades. Its beyond our control.
Exactly!

Checking my application status today was such a pleasant and unexpected surprise! So maybe this post will brighten up someone's day and give them a little more hope.
Applied for my first PR card, application was sent to Etobicoke office

  • COPR: September 10
  • Photo delivered to CIC Etobicoke: September 21
  • No updates or emails since....
  • Checked myCIC account today, and saw (what I thought) a GU. But I opened it and it says "Final decision - October 29, 2020:Your application was approved. "
Status below reads: "We mailed your permanent resident card to you."

Nothing in ECAS

Here's hoping...

Finally received our PR cards.

FSW - Outland - Currently in USA
Landing date - March 5th - Calgary

On Sep 23rd, Got an email requesting for photos again. But surprisingly the request is only for my application. My spouse didn't get anything.

But I sent my photos and spouse(wrote UCI of my spouse on backside of the photo) photos as well with the letter.

Both our PR cards are approved on Oct 13th. My friend received and mailed them to me.

Thanks for this forum. Finally done with PR process

Anybody sent photos to the hamilton office recently ??
Can’t elaborate on “recently” but I’ve sent pics July 30th (CoPr July 23rd) and this Monday PR card was mailed (First Ghost Update was a week before, October 22), so they’re not to fast, actually took them exactly 3 months and couple more days

But I just got a ghost update today on my PR card application as well. I hope it means that my PR Card is being produced. I cant wait for this to be over..

Ghost Update: October 30th (Approved) We mailed you your permanent resident card .

I'm glad the wait is over... Hoping to receive my card by next week
