I got recently PPR request letter, and I am about to send passports to Ottawa office. My medicals expired in the month of August and my profile is been updated with Medicals Passed on August 25th, 2020. AOR - July 2019, FSWO - USA.
What is the COPR timeline they are providing now? Could anyone reply who got COPR?
Previously they used to give until our medicals expire, just wanted to know till what time they are giving right now, is it 6 months or is it till August 2021.
Could anyone please help with this query

My account got updated:
  • "Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details."
There is no message below. Based on other peoples' experience, I think this means my COPR will be mailed out shortly. I hope you all get the good news soon.

FSW in the US.
AOR Oct 19
PPR in early March, passport copies arrived to Ottawa mid-March.

It should be for 6 months but it is better to call them and confirm that. Also, could you share your visa office? When did you get your PPR?

Mine was for a year based on my GCMS note.
Medical got expired in May 2020, by June it was already extended and my profile was reading medical passed on June 2nd, 2020. I ordered GCMS note in August, received it 2nd of September and my medical validity was till June 2nd, 2021.

I sent my passports around second week of May from USA to the Ottawa office and finally received them back last week after raising numerous webforms, sending emails to the Ottawa office and pleading with them for an update as the processing has been delayed incredibly long. It was very stressful to be living in a foreign country without access to our original passports for nearly 4 months.

I had my medicals done in November 2019 and going by the 1 year validity rule, I was expecting the PR visa to be given only till November of 2020. But they have issued the expiry as August of 2021 on my PR visa. Does that mean my medicals are extended automatically or do I have to re-do medicals before landing in Canada prior to August, 2021 ?

Sorry to hear your experience. I don't think you need to get the medicals done again unless they have specifically asked you to do it.

Did you file for an extension of CoPR or is this your first CoPR?

That's good to hear :). This is my first CoPR. I think they might have been extending the validity automatically for people who submitted passports in the last 2-3 months and have medicals expiring soon. Understandably so with the current COVID travel restrictions in place.

Just an update:
I received an email this morning stating the passport photo I sent was rejected. An hour later received another email asking me to check my profile, which I did: my counterfoil document have been processed and my profile is now showing “Final Decision: October 5, 2020 Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.”
I have already taken another photo from a professional this time, last time was from Walgreens and the new photo will be delivered to Ottawa tomorrow.

Hi,
I think they will review whether or not to extend your medicals. If yours is appropriate for the extension, I think, it will be just extended. Otherwise, they'll ask for it again.
