Called IRCC today and the agent said I cleared eligibility !!!! What a sigh of relief !! This means RPRF is almost a certain indicator that eligibility has passed. I got medical passed just on 15th September and eligibility passed so fast !! RPRF was requested 2 days back.
This is really a relief considering my last application was rejected because I claimed points for arranged employment and they did not accept the WP extension letter (it had offer number but dint say I will be in job after 1 year of getting PR)

I called IRCC and spoke to an agent, he said eligibility is in review, security not yet started and background check in process. I am wondering if there’s any need to request for GCMS or wait a little.

It takes IRCC 6 to 8 months on average (pre-Covid) to process an application; around the halfway mark of 3 to 4 months post AOR will be a good time to request the Gcms Notes. If inland you can request it for free.

Hi. Just curious, how did you clear your eligibility so fast? I thought it took longer than that. My AOR is July 9, I guess I can call them too. Assuming you are an inland applicant, What number did you call for IRCC?

Hello @legalfalcon ,

I received BIL for me today but not for spouse. How long should I wait before contacting CIC regarding this?

Thanks!

As per the new policy announced on September 23, if you have provided biometrics in the last 10 years for any TRV then you are exempt from providing them for your PR application.

Hi All, I have a question for those who have received Biometrics letter and their medical examination has been passed. Is it true that until the biometrics request is completed and the applicant receives COPR, application is still considered in progress and if your passed medicals expire while waiting for COPR, applicants are asked to resubmit their medicals? I came across few threads mentioning about medical exam extension? Does anyone know for how long they extend it after expiry, are there any conditions of extension? Can someone please validate this information?

Yes, this is true. Your medicals have to be valid not only during your the processing of your application, but also when you land in Canada.

If your meds expire, IRCC will ask you for a Re-med or extend them at their discretion for 6 months.

Thank you for validitating this once again @legalfalcon. I also called IRCC to check whether I should submit a webform to request for the extension of ME before the expiry. I was told by the IRCC rep that after expiry of the ME which is November 2020 end in my case, the designated officer will re-assess the existing ME and decide to give extension of 12 months based on the status of my application (and if we haven't travelled outside Canada since the last ME) / request re-ME. At present, our biometrics is completed and eligibility and background check are in progress. Estimated completion time of my application is indicated as Jan 20, 2021 based on my AOR.

But in some other thread, a person who got ME extension told me that they submitted a webform requesting for extension before the expiry of their ME in Mar 2020 for ME expiring in Apr 2020.

I think its too early to request for GCMS notes but looking at the current processing times of other applicants after passing ME, I am really hoping to receive my COPR before the expiry of our MEs. Do you think I am too ambitious with the processing timelines? I am in dilemma whether I should also request IRCC for extension of ME upfront or wait to hear from IRCC?

Once again thank you very much for your help and guidance.

Irrespective of whether you send a request for extension or not, the application will not be approved without a valid medical examination on record. When the medical expires, the officer who has the carriage of your file makes a determination to extend it or request for re-meds based on various criteria, from your country of residence, your category of medical examination assessment, your country of origin and the prevailing medical conditions there etc.

Sending a webform to request has no bearing as it is at the discretion of he officer.

For most applicant's the COPR is issued before the medicals expire, bit lately due to COVID, many applicants have had their medicals expire, some have been given extensions, some asked for re-med and other have gone ahead and got a re-med done even without being asked and submitted the upfront sheet.

Given that your AoR is July, you are thinking too far ahead. It takes 6-9 months for an application to be processed and your re well within the processing time frame.

I would suggest that you relax and have patience.

RPRF is sent when the eligibility is started or recommended passed. It does not necessararirly mean that the eligibility is conclusively passed. Though getting the RPRF is a good sign of progress, but only after a final determination by an officer on the eligibility is it passed.

I don't know , I called the agent and she said I cleared it. I am inland and called this number - 1-888-242-2100 . I had Ontario nomination. May be it is recommended eligibility as people are suggesting.

Okk, the agent said I cleared medical and eligibility . I asked it twice and she said yes eligibility is passed. Not sure it may be recommended pass as you have suggested .
