Hi guys, i know IP1 and IP2 mean nothing but i'd like some clarification..
FSW-O
AOR 12 AUG
MEP & BIL 31 AUG
BIL submitted 02 SEP
all payments upfront

My Background has been 'in progress' since the beginning
I just got, today (16 SEP) a ghost update and my background check is now: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.

What would you read from this ?
@legalfalcon this is the first time i tag you.. and i hope i'm not being a bother ^^ would love to hear your insight

Thanks!
During the processing of your application your BGC status on your MyCIC account will change twice. Once early in the processing when your criminality is done, and then will go to Not applicable and then again in progress when your security is in progress.

The wordings of the in progress BGC is different during both the times.
BGC = Criminality + Security.

Criminality is passed along with R10 early in the processing, where as the security only starts after your eligibility is passed.

Since you applied online, you can leave it blank or just enter Online / Ottawa.

Hi guys,

quick question.

AOR: 12 AUG
MEP: 31 AUG
(did biometrics today)

I got an email 31 aug at night that profile is updated, went in and saw that biometrics requested (but medical not passed yet)

1st of september i logged in and medicals were set as passed

1st september at night i received another email that application has been updated, went in, it does say updated, but nothing changed inside.

What should this mean ?

Thanks!
Eligibility Confirmed Pass (just called IRCC)

@legalfalcon Does this mean the "A11.2 Eligibility (The most important stage)" is done?
The eligibility takes place in two stages. First an analyst or an assistant will review and make a recommendation. This can be recommended passed / Met / etc. This recommendation is then reviewed by an officer who makes a final determination. The terminology used such as met / recommended passed / passed an no relevance. Only after the eligibility is passed will security start.

So If we have a common name is it better to get RCMP in applying from inland??
I would say that you should get rcmp certificate even if you don't have a very common name. Who knows why they choose to ask some or do not choose to ask some—could depend on the particular person processing your file too.

In case you are asked, then you have it ready. It costs $50 to obtain and saves about 3 weeks of time on your processing. To me, that money is well spent if they ask, but not a huge loss if they don't ask for it. Even though they did not ask me, only my spouse—I still sent mine along as well as I already had it.

Hey Guys

My ITA was on: August 5
I did my medical Exam on: August 9
I received my AOR on: August 11

But since then nothing happened at all and I am worried since a lot of people here seems to advance quite rapidly.

I also got my ITA thanks to a PNP nomination from Ontario.

Is this normal? or is anything i can do?
