CIC says application can be linked only 5 days after the processing notification is sent. Not sure about Ecas but you can check at the link

Is it for pr renewal or 1st pr card
I believe that's true for all... After AOR it probably takes upto 5 days could be earlier or later... We all know how it's with CIC when it comes to timelines... Many times people receive no AOR and just ecas updates and some get no AOR No ecas and directly get a surprise in mail.

@DC1018 My card arrived today......
Total time 180 days
March 5 applied, July 30 AOR, Sept 1 Card arrive
PR renewal....
DC1018..... you can go about your business now. You were a great pal!
Not going far though myself - over to Citizenship thread....
Very happy for you... Also it will help others stay calm if they end up in similar situation of no updates after AOR.
Being 14th April applicant just keeping fingers crossed and hope can get an AOR soon in this week

I'll also keep everyone here posted, I'm not sure which day exactly my application reached (courier tracking) but it was mid-April (14-17). I'm hoping that I get an AoR very soon, and I've linked my Permanent Resident application to my CIC account but there's no update on it, only that the original PR card was delivered (2015) and expired in June 2020. I'm not even sure the online linking will work but I've done my part.

As long as you are in Canada it does not really matter if your PR card is expired. You are still a PR. From my perpective the biggest impact on a person who is a PR but who's PR card is expired is with regard to travel. It is not possible to board a flight or any commercial vehicle traveling to Canada (as a PR) without a valid PR card.
Your job should not be affected if your card has expired.
I know that it shouldn't matter but I can tell you it's an issue with employers. I made a forum post here just last week about the exact issue. I told them my PR card expired and that I sent my renewal application in April, so I gave them a copy of my expired PR, copy of my SIN confirmation letter and they're still asking for some sort of proof that I sent an application (in future, I will make a copy of all such applications and I only wish I did this because that's what the employer essentially asked for in the end).

Now I feel there's a legitimate possibility that my offer might be rescinded and I'm not really sure what to do about it, I even sent a webform to the IRCC last week stating my case which was turned down quite fast. If it really does get to that, I'm thinking of asking them to let me start late so that I can get my AoR and show that to them.
