1-hi guys, i sent document and currently waiting for my pr approval, its been 14monthes since I send the document, but for an incident, I really need to have the pr and apply for us visa, which I won't able to get without the pr,or landing paper. is there any possible way that I can do to speed up the process? i mean can I call them or can I send them an email?i already linked my application to my cic account, it tells me the approximate time is april 2021 btw.
2-will I be able to check my application status by applying to atip? can I see which step is it? would it hurt the process?
3-in the cic account, there is a section that I can request the checklist by giving them permission, an online signature(Required Documents Checklist) does anyone know what is that for?
i apologize for too many questions and I would be very happy if somebody answers me.
thank you so much.

i applied to visit my son, which is a citizen of USA, got rejected. and the lady, told me that i need to have status in canada.
You can try asking. I do not think it will hurt. Show proof of why it is urgent that you visit your son in the US if you decide to ask.

Also, having status in Canada will not guarantee a US visa, I hope the visa officer from the US embassy made that clear.

yes I know, but the only reason she told me,as i travelled to usa once, is that I don't have any status in Canada.can you please help me who should I call or ask?because when I call the number ircc provided, I cant talk to someone, maybe due to the situation we are in,the covid.

he visited me here a few times, but for a reason I need to go there this time and take care of him for a while,3or4monthes.
You can certainly send a case specific request to ask that your case be expedited. There's probably quite a low chance that IRCC will consider your request. But no harm trying.

Would add that the progress bar doesn’t necessarily indicate when your application will be complete. It represents average processing times and with covid there have delays. There is a good chance the application will not be completed by April 2021.

Would also be exploring a plan B because having your case expedited would be incredibly unusual.

Many families of protected people are waiting for PR are in a situation where their families are not in good conditions and could be in a war zone, refugee camp with lack access to basic services or housing, etc. There is no process to ask for cases to be processed faster. People just wait. In my opinion unless your son is dying it is ulikely for anything to happen. The US visa is also not guaranteed.
