Will your consultant know that you've raised webform? I'm in the same situation

No and I dont think its gonna be a problem. All u need is your UCI number and application number and put In your email ID and your basic information. Also u get email from ircc to your email ID not cic account if am not wrong.

You can reach out to IRCC without the need of a lawyer or consultant; there are multiple ways - calling them, raising a web form or requesting the GCMS notes.

Hi All,
My passport is expiring in 7 months from now and looks like the processing is going to take longer time due to this pandemic. I have read in some forum that passport should have atleast 6 months validity to travel. So, just wanted to check here, if any has similar issue and can help me if i renew my passport would that impact on my processing? Technically, passport should have less then 6 months expiry date to renew as per my country's rules. so, i can start renewal process probably after a month if that is advisable. Any help on this would be really appreciable.

Renewing your passport has no impact on the processing of your application. Get it done sooner than later, or as soon as your country's rule allow. Once you get your new passport, send a scan of the biographical pages to IRCC via webform.

My situation is similar. AOR May 16. My dependants passports will expire by mid September while mine still has 4 years validity left on it. Due to the Covid situation, my country passport office in Ottawa is closed. I mentioned this in my LOE. I am CEC inland and my dependents are also here in Canada so we will not need visa counterfoil on our passports. Will this expiry cause IRCC not to issue us/my dependants PR? If you do not have to be issued a visa, then it should not be an issue, however, you should try and get your passports renewed asap. An application will not be arrived if the identity document is expired.

There is no negative or positive impact. However, with any communication tool, you should use it as and when required. If you feel that you have to use it, then go for it. However, if you use it periodically to just get an update, that is inappropriate use of it. All webforms are logged in you file an if you start sending too many, you will start getting generic responses and it will lose its utility.
