I have read the quarantine requirements and have a quick question. If one is planning to quarantine with at a friend's place (who will also quarantine for 14 days). Would an email from them stating the same suffice? Has anybody tried it?

I don't think you need it but it wouldn't hurt, they just want the address and phone number, that the person you are staying with isn't elderly or might be more at risk of catching covid, also that you have a person you get your food etc. You realize that your friend can't leave the house for the 2 weeks of quarantine to shop or anything else?

Yes. That's what I was hoping to get in the email. Their name, address, contact information and statement saying they'll not be leaving the house and will be following quarantine rules. For food and groceries, I'll be using Uber eats and Instacart. Just trying to have an airtight quarantine plan to avoid any issues at the airport.

Even i sent an email and they replied very generic and i am flying as well.

Thanks FJK for your advice. I guess Fortune favors the brave . Hopefully, our COPR will be stamped (or) if they don't stamp hopefully it doesn't affect any future chances.

See, i am in a whats app group of around 130 people, and discussed more than 7 or 8 people who few recently like 1 week or 2 weeks back, they clearly mentioned to me that they are not asking anything relates to permanent or temporary landing, they just don't care, and frankly speaking this have to be done from the country you are departing correct, like the recent law says that no one can board the flight whose CoPR has been issued after 18th Mar, so airlines around the world know the regulations and they will not allow you onboard, similarly they have said that you should not do temp. landing but they haven't forced it.

People are coming back flying in and out, so for me personally i dont think there will be an issue as you are not doing anything illegal.

And the question you asked about a proof to show intent to settle, i have a reply from them for one of my whats app group guy, whose CoPR expired and he informed that he is "Ready to Travel" and they sent him a long list of documents to show canada they he is coming permanently after the extension and not temp. just msg me in pvt i will send you the screen shot how it looks like so you have better clarity around it.

Is the person who got long list of documents email a PNP applicant? I heard PNP applicants are getting that not EE applicants

Hopefully this is the right place. I'm a none landed PR that was after the march cut off date. It looks like the restrictions have now been adjusted (Date modified: 2020-07-24 ).

I'm looking to move permantely in September, I believe I am correct but just want to confirm before booking anything. I should be covered under non-discretionary and the PR exemption, correct?

To be eligible, you must meet 2 requirements:

exemptions
"any person who has been approved to become a permanent resident of Canada, but who is not yet a permanent resident "

When you received the CoPR, means whats the date mentioned on it?

Guys i just want to express my opinion.

There is nothing called Soft landing in the first place !!!!!

for the government COPR means moving to Canada , yet no one will prevent you from leaving the country once you are there.

I guess the biggest challenge is that you make sure that your PR card can get to you overseas later on , and not get lost somewhere on the way.

You are correct, the date of COPR being issued is no longer applicable. Any COPR holder can travel anytime.

Hello everyone,
I made my landing on 24th July. No questions asked. They completed all documents. One thing they told me extra was that it takes at least a year for PR card to arrive now due to COVID-19 backlog. Other than that. Everything normal.

Wow, great news though... but PR cards at least year thats too much , i know couple of guys who linked their PR cards on CIC website and it is showing around 126 days for the delivery, anyways, you landed permanently or coming back soon?
