Thank god I did a "soft landing" in early March and returned home before the lockdown started. Given the adverse Covid impact on the global economy, I am in no rush to return. However, it would be nice to get hold of the PR card ASAP.
We did the exact same thing.

You cannot plan anything without a PR card, and nowadays with a PRTD supposedly you need to fly to Canada within 30 days of its approval. What’s more, someone I know received a PRTD a month ago and it was only valid for a 4-month period and it was single entry. All for C$50 plus international DHL fees. Surely they should have granted a multiple entry, 1-year PRTD, considering the current situation with PR cards!

By the way, if I may ask, when are you planning to return and which province do you think would recover quicker?

I also landed in Toronto with the intention of softlanding and was supposed to stay for 15 days. But ended up holed up in 2 different Airbnb's for a total of 105 days due to flight restrictions and Covid-19 situation. I'm back in my country of residence now but it would have been nicer to bring PR card in person!

It's been 111 days now since I landed but no updates on PR card makes me explore other available option like PRTD. Will wait until end of this month and if no PR card received then apply for PRTD in first week of August.
I wonder if PR cards are considered “paper applications” since Canada isn’t processing these yet according to IRCC.

I really hope we receive our PR cards by August, too. I am no expert when it comes to federal authorities’ internal processes, but current ambiguity with PR cards is getting out of hand. They cannot even confirm if they have started processing PR cards yet, but at the same time they update current processing times every week. It’s been a month now.

I’ve read that most workers in Canada are back in the office and services are open now, hence things should be moving again, but why is IRCC not following suit?

UNFAIR UNFAIR UNFAIR UNFAIR UNFAIR :( :( :(

February & March & April & May landers need to be treated like ROYALTY in processing of their respective PR cards.
We February & March & April & May landers have risked AND jeopardized our Lives to land on this soil.
Whats more to loose?

UNFAIR UNFAIR UNFAIR :( :( :(

I hope some agent from IRCC or Govt reads this message! Too much to wish for eH!
This is relative, we were warned not to come. I am in the same boat, my whole family is, we do not need to be treated like royalty.

We knew we were coming in the midst of a pandemic, with a recession, no jobs, and fully dependant on our savings, so it is solely our responsibility to make through and keep pushing forward.

Has anyone here applied for software engineer jobs in Canada recently? How easy/hard is it to find a software engineer job?

Professional software engineer can distinguish int and float variables. Also you can distinguish topics related to SIN and job market. To conclude, it'll be hard for you to find a job.

PR Confirmation email on 26th May
Photo delivered on 2nd June to Saskatoon
Application linked to my account showing "Submitted"
Hi, have you received your card yet? I also sent my card to Saskatoon on June 2nd, but when I linked the application, it only shows "pending registration". What does that mean? It's frustrating...

Umm, i most definitely was not warned not to come.

I was told i have an exemption to the travel restrictions and i should land as scheduled.

While i agree that we all knew what we were getting ourselves into, i also think they should try to help us by finally processing our PR cards so that we can mitigate our losses in these circumstances.

Then i can go back to my home country, wrap up my commitments, not have to blow through the rest of my savings, and come back to the country at a better time.

All we want are our PR cards, and i don't think that's too much to ask.

I'm happy for you, but what the actual freak?

How come inland applicants are getting processed so soon, and we outland people are seeing no movement after more than 3 months waiting?

C'mon now, this is getting ridiculous.

I concur. Do you think we could do anything?

I am on the point of looking for a local MP to complain to. I’ve heard it worked for PR applications that were long due.
