Nearing 6 months , yet security verification is not even initiated. My application is with CIO Sydney.

Received update through web form today :

Current status - 30 June :
Eligibility requirement - IRCC did not share this information
Background verification - In progress
Security background verification - not initiated
Criminal background verification - valid

Previous status - 03 June :
Eligibility requirement - met
Background verification - In process

Previous status - 27 April :
Eligibility requirement - met
Security background verification - not initiated
Criminal background verification - valid

I am also on the same boat, AOR Jan 6th, Same VO. I am starting to think that not starting security is their way to keep applications on hold until the ban is lifted. I am speculating based on multiple people with the exact same response from that office.

I too downloaded the app but could not get a Canadian number.
I am interested to know too.

I hope they would atleast complete the process and keep applications on hold. Previously PNP used to be faster than FSW but for some reason its other way round now. As such Sydney VO is slow ; Covid-19 is making it more difficult.

This is the response I got today. I am inland with Aor Jan 26. @andy108 Please help me understand, is my eligibility under review?
· The application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
· The eligibility review has not been initiated.
· The security background verifications have not been initiated.
· The criminal background verifications are valid.
· The medical examination results on file are valid.

@legalfalcon does getting married while you have an in progress PR application matter? will this have any effect on how they process my application? my fiancé is Canadian and does not need to be added

I doubt they will just fling the doors open and let anyone in tomorrow. But I hope they can announce a plan, at least.

This is the point!!!

I sincerely do not expect they open borders any time soon but at least they should shed some light on their plan for outlanders!

Hi everyone I ordered my GCMS notes on 12 June and received them today need some help in understanding the current scenario. The assessments section on page two shows the following results;

Eligibility: Recommend Passed
Security: Not Started
HIRV: (Blank)
Criminality: Passed
Medical: In Progress
Misrepresentation: (Blank)
Info Sharing: Complete

However, pages 50 onward show different activities under the heading of Applications e.g. application 1, 2 etc. There it says Medical Passed, which is then updated to In Progress from Passed. I am confused. The detailed section of my medicals also says Passed.

Further the update date on my GCMS Notes if 25 Feb does this mean that there was no movement in the file after that date ?

My case has no movement since Feb 25

Same here dear! My file is also at CIO Sydney.
AOR- 26 Jan 2020 (ontario PNP) (Outland)
As of 1st july 2020:
Eligibility- passed
Background verification - in process
Security background- Not Innitiated
Criminality background- currently valid

my eligibility and criminality is passed from last 2 months. I dont know what they have been upto in all this time. I hope to get security passed and background check passed soon.
