Yeah, why 475. Simply say 490 or 500 or straight away 1200.
Yes, IELTS is fully functional and every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be able to write IELTS in full swing now.
ECA organizations are working with full capacity and they will pick up the transcript at the airport as well. Most importantly, they can process the ECA report too in just a few days.
Plus our Indian Universities are just waiting for applicants to come in and by the time applicant reaches University, the alma mater will straight away hand over all the documents to the transcript in less than 1 day and even send it electronically the next second itself.
COVID cases are creeping up, back to back intense lockdowns, Canadian provinces not even moved to stage 2 full and no staff are working from office (WES, CES, ICES, IQAS), less than 50 applicants are writing (50% of them are IELTS Academic) and every candidate writing IELTS get 8777 (as it was in the pre-covid era), plus many depressed due to this pandemic situation, many suffering from health issues, more work from home and many more plights.
So amid all these, there will still be back to back candidates and the cut-off will remain above 475 forever right.
No arguments on this further.
Let's discuss the same when the all draws resume.
You don’t have to be this cold about it... lol

From A to Z, everything is pure speculation here. Nothing from the govt. In the recent message that the immigration minister has said (directing the H1B dudes), Canada will welcome people and they will completely rely on the targeted immigration even after the Covid situation eases.
Based on that, I can say that they are not gonna reduce the numbers until 2022 as projected.
I just said my theory as others did.
As many are adamant that the cut-score will stick to the 470 mark forever (even the immigration minister isn't this confident), I just shared my view on that.
Everyone has their logic but the catch here is that when fewer people can write IELTS (not all will clinch 8777) and ECA organizations are insanely bombarded with files that came by March and early April, not sure how people came up with this logic. All of their offices are closed and transcripts that are being sent are piling up in the office reception.
The same group was saying that CEC candidates were topping the CRS pool but you see, from March until now, the score has gradually dropped to the 430s.
CECs still had chance to write IELTS (in Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and other places in Canada) but no one from outside had the chance the write the exam a month ago. They had better chance to submit their overseas degree for ECA and most of them did even have to do that, as they all studied there. But still, the score plunged gradually.
So these groups of people who often demotivate others with lesser scores can come up with a clear logic as to how on earth will a dude enter the pool provided almost nothing is working (still now) as it was in the pre-COVID timeline. Not to mention that lot of dudes are stranded as well with no means of commute or access.
So wanna end this argument and talk to those people again when the 'all program draws' will commence.
My logic - Score will drop as it did in case of CEC.
Very very few applicants writing IELTS (again not all are gonna clinch 8777 and not all are general) and very very few universities in India sending electronic transcripts to ECA bodies (ECA timelines have been increased to an even lengthy timeframe) is directly proportional to lesser candidates entering the pool.

U all are wasting ur time here , making assumptions without any proof , and putting too much stress on urselves . Calm down and wait for Canada to announce anything .dnt stress urself

you simply do not understand. if you have money, you can get your pr by applying for a student visa first. this system is designed to suck up your money before granting you a pr card.

Couple of things:

1. First, FSW Inland candidates are not receiving ITAs or CoPRs because they do not qualify as CEC or PNPs. This means that they are probably in Canada on a Work Permit or study-to-work program. For these people, IRCC is renewing their Work Permits almost instantly.

There are people who have had their work permits renewed within a week of application - but they are not seeing much (if at all any) movement on the PR front.

So FSW Outlanders might want to keep an eye on this development as well.

2. All those talking about New Zealand, here's the reality: New Zealand has two unofficial lists for Skilled Migrant Category immigration - Priority list and Regular applicants. To get into the priority list, you need to have a job offer in a skill-shortage area and the job needs to pay more than NZD79000 per year. the job offer has to be based in New Zealand - you cannot have a remote job working for some company in the US, and claim that you will just continue working in that job while in New Zealand.

If not, you are in the regular list! I know this because - my wife and I tried. We both earn well over $100k per year - she in a remote job and I in running my remote digital agency - we were still denied a place in the priority list.

Our New Zealand application was submitted in January 2019, and we have not even been assigned a Case Officer yet. They have been assigning applicants with December 2018 AOR for the last 16-months.

The only other options of getting PR in New Zealand is as Spouse of a PR and not even as family member of PR (unless someone in your family was a victim of the Christchurch terrorist attack). If you think your situation with IRCC is bad, over there things are worse! All these priority lists and regular list segmentation was not even made public knowledge until people started approaching the media and the ombudsman.

I am PNP Outland btw, (got picked up in OINP Tech Draw). Everything was approved in May but still waiting for final decision. There is no alternative but patience.
Hi there

regarding number 1, lots of us are on pgwp and its not renewable

@Islander216 Does "1 or 2 years of working at Tim Hortons and a 2 year diploma at a small college" and CLB 7 in french make a better immigrant in your mind?

Because that will give you a score of 476.

There are plenty of African countries whose native language is French so they can easily get CLB 7 in French.
It is hard to understand that score doesn't make anyone less or more intelligent? They just fit the Express Entry criteria better.

Similarly someone at 475 who are 30 will be at 470 it doesn't make them ant dumb, they just don't fit the criteria better. (They have more experience now but still score less because of age)

And the PNP cut off was 692.

Like 692??? How is it possible for someone to score a mere 92 without the nomination? Are they a better immigrant?

I don't doubt that Canada has to provide encouragement to people who are studying there, so that's why you get heavy bonuses for Canadian education and work experience according to the CRS. Let's be honest, a lot of people come to Canada to study as a pathway to permanent residency, and they know that.

They also provide encouragement to bilingual people because politically it makes sense to do so, and they are an asset to the country.

And they prefer younger people to older people, it makes sense because they have an ageing population.

But if even after these major bonuses you are still scoring less than an FSW, then why should you get selected ahead of them?

We can discuss the criteria and whether it's fair until the cows come home, but at the end of the day it is what it is.

But if someone scores higher than you, how can you say that you are more deserving than them of immigrating? That's what doesn't make sense to me.

You could just say, yes we've been fortunate that because of the pandemic we've been lucky and we're happy and grateful for that. I would have no issue with that.

Immigration is between Canada and your country, so it doesn't matter how good is it in Canada...(If I come from COVID-19 top 3 country, do you want me to live with you?)

If you country is still falling under top 30 of COVID-19 or raising rapidly...expect to land in Canada after 2022

Set your dream to reality now
Canada would first open its border with the USA, as they have trade deal , and America is the no. 1 . Canada , economically , could not even keep its borders closed till December .

Many International students are at the start of their careers which is why they will never be able to reach a score of 470 or higher is they are graduating with only a diploma or undergrad degree. Also if someone is graduating with no experience in a qualifying NOC position it puts them at a serious disadvantage. This is why I am suggesting the best method to get Permanent Residence for international student is to not come for undergrad or diploma Courses. Wait until you can go for a post grad diploma (2 years min) or a masters degree.
