Hi, does anyone receive study permit? I got declined for the reason of purpose of my visit. I submitted my application in the end of April and received declination today. I've learned my people around me also received rejection with the same reason. However, someone who applied earlier than me has not received any message. Plus, what does 216(1) of the IPRR stand for?

216 (1)
It means that the visa officer is not satisfied that you will leave Canada after completing your studies

I'd advise to order Caips GCMS notes to find out what exactly VO didn't like about ur application and after re-apply.
Did u show any ties to China? Property? Employer who waits for you? Does your program logically continue your previous degree?

I found other people who are rejected have the same reason,"I am not satified that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay". Plus, almost every applicant who submitted in March or April was either rejected or hasnt received any messages. I feel like CIC doesnt want to give any permit. SAD

I dont know. Some agency guess applicants who haven't recevied any messages may pass. However, nobody can prove it at the moment.

It is a generic message that basically means they don't believe you'll leave at the end of your program. I would get the GCSM notes like someone else mentioned above

where did you apply it ?
Applied from Pakistan through SDS on January 23rd. I was interviewed on Feb 12th and interviewer told me that i will receive a decision in 2 weeks after they complete the background check.
I send them inquiry via webform on March 15th.
I received crospondent letter on march 31st.
Since then no decision, application pending...
I initially applied for May2020 intake but deferred to September 2020 intake due to delay in Visa processing.
I hope they start giving decisions soon.

There have been approvals for March and April as well. Refusals tend to come out faster than approvals although there are so,e very fast approvals as well especially for masters and PhD courses. Those will refusals tend to me more vocal than those with approvals.
